'FC Seoul World Star' Jesse Lingard is expected to face police investigation over allegations that he rode an electric kickboard without a license during the Chuseok holiday.

According to reports by YTN and Yonhap News on the 17th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul launched an investigation (internal investigation) into Jesse Lingard, a member of FC Seoul.

At 10:20 p.m. on the 16th, he was accused of driving an electric kickboard without a license in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and Lingard posted a picture of him riding an electric kickboard on social media that day, sparking controversy among netizens. Lingard deleted the post, but the police, who recognized it, reportedly launched an internal investigation on the 17th.

Lingard is known to have been suspended for 18 months in the UK a year ago, along with a fine worth 100 million won for drunk driving and speeding, and it has not been confirmed whether he has an international license. The police will also investigate whether Lingard actually fulfilled his safety requirements such as helmets to see if he was unlicensed and whether he drank.

According to the Road Traffic Act revised on May 13, 2021, if you use personal mobile devices including electric kickboards, you must have a motor license or more, pay a fine of 100,000 won for driving without a license, and pay a fine of 20,000 won for driving without wearing protective gear such as helmets.
