The result was a draw. However, Daegu FC, which escaped defeat with a picturesque volley shot of King Cesinha, cheered as if it had won.

Daegu FC, led by ace Cesinha (33), drew 1-1 with Gangwon FC and scored one point to turn on the hope of escaping the relegation zone. Dramatically secured one point from the brink of defeat.

Daegu played an away game against Gangwon FC at 4:30 p.m. on the 28th at Gangneung Stadium in the 32nd round of the '2024 Hana Bank K League 1'. Gangwon FC, which is aiming for the top spot in the league, was a strong opponent. However, the atmosphere was somewhat subdued with no wins (1 draw and 3 losses) in the last four games. For Daegu, it was enough to burn the will that 'It's worth trying'

Daegu ranked ninth in the league (35 points) before the game, but was only one point ahead of 10th-ranked Daejeon Hana Citizen (35 points), so it was not far from the relegation zone. There was a desperate need to add more points. Daegu coach Park Chang-hyun put forward his best performance. With a 3-4-3 formation, politicians, Italo and a little back, Sesingya were placed in the attacking camp. Yoshino and Hwang Jae-won formed the midfield, while Park Jae-hyun and Ko Jae-hyun appeared as left and right fullbacks. Ko Myung-seok, Kaio and Park Jin-young formed a three-back.

In response, Gangwon desperately needed to get out of the slump. We had to revive our hopes for the top spot in the league. Gangwon coach Yoon Jung-hwan came out with a 4-4-2 formation. Lee Sang-hun and Kovacevic took charge of the front line. Lee Yoo-hyun and Kim Dong-hyun formed the midfield, while Yoo In-soo and Yang Min-hyuk took over the left and right. Song Joon-seok, Lee Ki-hyuk, Kang Tu-ji, and Hwang Moon-ki came out as the four-back. Keeper Lee Kwang-yeon was the starter.

Just in time, the A national team coach Hong Myung-bo watched the game himself and checked the players. Ahead of the announcement of the roster for the second consecutive A-match (match between national teams) in October, it was a measure to check new talent in K League 1. Coach Hong watched the players' play with a firm look on his face.

The first half was a tight search. The ball possession ratio was about the same with 59 (Kangwon)-41 (Daegu). However, there were many attempts to shoot in Daegu. Cesinha and the politician had several chances to score, but they couldn't get inside the goal. In the end, the first half ended 0-0.

In the second half, Gangwon started to hunt for goals by raising its offensive. In the end, the first goal was scored. A free-kick chance earned by foul. Hwang Moon-ki stepped up as a kicker in front of the right side of the penalty area. In the 24th minute of the second half, Hwang Moon-ki's picturesque right-footed free kick passed through the corner of Daegu's right goal. Gangwon seemed to win for the first time in a long time.

But 'King of Daegu' saved the team himself. Cesinha hit a picturesque volley in attack five minutes later. Hwang Jae-won, who caught the pass from the left side, calmly saw Cesinha in the center of the penalty area and floated the ball. Cesinha laid himself half-way to the side and hit a volley. The bound ball was sucked into the goal. Keeper Lee Kwang-yeon couldn't even use his hand.

The two teams, which tied the game, did their best to score the winning goal. Gangwon put Kim Yi-seok and Jeong Han-min in the 36th minute of the second half, and Kim Young-bin and Kim Kang-guk again in the 43rd minute of the second half. Director Yoon Jung-hwan's desperation was seen. Daegu also strengthened its defense by adding Jang Sung-won in the 32nd minute of the second half and Park Se-jin in the 46th minute of the second half. The bench's operation was fierce. However, it worked out as Daegu intended. The goal was no longer scored, and Daegu scored a valuable point.
