KIA came from behind to win 5-2 against Kiwoom at Kia Champions Field in Gwangju on the 8th. KIA, which beat Kiwoom consecutively on the 6th and 7th, secured four consecutive wins and 80 wins (2 draws and 50 losses) in the season by catching the game on the 8th.
Kim Do-young made a come-from-behind triple in the bottom of the eighth inning with one out and two bases tied at 2-2. KIA, which failed to take advantage of the chance with one out and runners on the first and third bases in the bottom of the second inning, tied the game in the bottom of the third inning. Park Chan-ho became a home-in, 1-1 when Kim Do-young grounded out on the first and third bases with no outs caught by Kiwoom third baseman Ko Young-woo's consecutive errors.
Since then, the two team's starting pitchers have developed into a pitching match. Yang Hyun-jong continued his balance by erasing the inning without any special crisis until the seventh inning. Furado also made three consecutive three-and-out innings from the fourth to the sixth inning, and he also blocked the crisis with a strikeout and a mistake in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The balance was broken in the eighth inning.
With KIA bringing Yang Hyun-jong and Jang Hyun-sik on the mound, Kiwoom took a chance with two outs and runners on the first and third bases with hits by pinch-hitter Won Sung-joon and Lee Ju-hyung. KIA put left-hander Kwak Do-kyu on the mound, but following Song Sung-moon, Kim Hye-sung also walked on base to score a push and Kiwoom led 2-1 again.
