KIA Tigers Kim Do-young drew another big arch. The first 40 (homer)-40 (homer) since Eric Thames is no longer a dream.

Kim Do-young hit a solo shot to left in the seventh inning of the Samsung Lions match at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on the 1st.

Kim Do-young, who appeared as the leadoff hitter, hit a high slider in the middle of Samsung Choi Ji-kwang's fourth 136km in ball count 2B1S and crossed the left fence.

It was his 35th homer of the season. Kim Do-young, who has 36 stolen bases earlier, will achieve 40-40 for the second time in professional baseball history after Thames (47 home runs and 40 steals) in 2015 if he adds five home runs and four stolen bases for the rest of the season. The previous 30-30 was also the ninth record in history, including Park Jae-hong (1996, 1998, 2000), Lee Jong-beom (1997), Hong Hyun-woo, Lee Byung-kyu Davis (1999), and Thames.

Eric Stout, who joined James Nail as an alternative foreign player, made his KBO League debut on the same day. However, after struggling with consecutive home runs by Park Byung-ho in the second and third innings, he finished the first game with four hits, five runs, six strikeouts, and 97 pitches.

KIA's batting lineup was crushed by three runs in six innings against Samsung starter Won Tae-in. In the top of the fourth inning, trailing 0-5, Na Sung-bum's double and Kim Sun-bin's hit were tied to score the first comeback with Lee Woo-sung's sacrifice fly on the first and third bases.

It was Kim Do-young who opened the door to counterattack. Kim Do-young made a chance at the top of the third inning by hitting a mid-wall triple after two outs, but failed to connect with the score.

It was different at the beginning of the fifth inning. Kim Do-young got on base with a walk after two outs, and homered on Choi Hyung-woo's RBI double. Na Sung-bum's timely hit followed, and Choi Hyung-woo scored and became 3-5.

And the seventh episode of fate. Leading hitter Kim Do-young fired a solo shot, followed by Na Sung-bum's equalizer over the right fence against Samsung's must-win group Oh Seung-hwan after one out. The game started from the ground up.
