The reputation of the KIA Tigers was once again shown. He continued his relentless first-place run, kicking the second-place Samsung Lions far away.
KIA had a miraculous come-from-behind victory with Lee Woo-sung's finishing hit in the top of the ninth inning at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on the 1st.
With the victory, KIA had its 75th win (49 losses and 2 draws) and maintained a solid lead by shaking off second-place Samsung by 6 1/2 games. The first regular season-Korean series combined championship since 2017 is just around the corner. Starting with the NC Dinos this season, many teams, including the LG Twins and Doosan Bears, chased to second place and collapsed in the series against KIA. Samsung was not an exception.
Samsung recorded its 56th loss (69 wins and 2 draws). This is the series in which Park Byung-ho hit three home runs in two games with consecutive hits.
