Korea Sports Science Institute-Ministry of Culture, Sports and Science Held 2024 Sports Science Forum on 6th Seeks to Expand Sports Science Support to Cultivate Outstanding Athletes



The Seoul Olympic Memorial National Sports Promotion Foundation (Chairman Cho Hyun-jae) announced that it will hold the '2024 Sports Science Forum' to find the importance of supporting sports science and ways to improve the performance of national athletes through it.

The forum, which will be held at the Korea Sports Policy Science Institute on the 6th, will be co-hosted by the institute and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and will be attended by more than 100 sports experts and leaders.

Starting with a presentation on the 'National Sports Science Support Achievements and Development Plan' by Jeon Jae-yeon, head of the National Sports Science Support Center at the Korea Archery Association, Choi Kyung-hwan, secretary-general of the Korea Archery Association, will present a presentation on the theme of 'Improving Performance and Conditioning Strategies for Comprehensive Sports Events through the Application of Sports Science' by Professor Lee Jin-seok of Daegu National University of Education.



Later, in the comprehensive discussion, Kim Chang-gon, former leader of the Korea Fencing Association, Kim Sung-jin, national leader of the Korean National Team (Korea Modern Pentathlon Federation), Secretary-General Oh Ja-wang (Korea Handball Federation), and Professor Song Joo-ho (Chungbuk University) will attend as the panelists to discuss the practical application and future direction of sports science.

Director Song Kang-young said, "As shown by the outstanding performance of the Paris Olympics, sports science is an essential element of modern sports that greatly contributes to the improvement of athletes' performance. I hope the forum will recognize the importance of sports science and serve as a meaningful place for the development of sports in Korea."
