Lee Chang-geun, who escaped Daejeon Hana Citizen from the relegation zone, was selected as the MVP of the 29th round of 'Hana Bank K League 1 2024'.
Lee Chang-geun defended Daejeon's 2-0 victory against Gwangju FC at Daejeon World Cup Stadium on the 1st. Lee Chang-geun achieved his fifth clean sheet this season by blocking all four effective shots toward the inside of the goal, including Gwangju Lee Kun-hee's strong header. With the victory, Daejeon jumped to ninth and escaped from the relegation zone.
Lee Chang-geun was also selected as the best goalkeeper in the 29th round. Yuri Jonathan (Jeju), Yago and Arabidze (Ulsan) were chosen as the best strikers in the 29th round, while Kim Do-hyuk (Incheon), Ko Seung-beom (Ulsan), and Lee Soon-min and Yoon Do-young (Daejeon) were named as midfielders. The best defenders were Kim Gun-hee (Incheon), Hong Joon-ho (Jeju), and Choi Kyu-baek (Suwon FC).
The best match of the 29th round of the K League was the East Coast Derby between Ulsan and Pohang at Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium on August 31. Ulsan won 5-4 after a slugfest. Ulsan was also selected as the best team.
Meanwhile, Kimpo FC striker Lewis won the best star in the 29th round of the K League. Lewis showed his strength to score as many as four goals alone in a game against the Jeonnam Dragons at Gimpo Salter Football Stadium on the 1st. Gimpo won 4-3 with Lewis' performance.
Starting with Lewis, Choi Jae-hoon, Chapman (Kimpo), Mulich (Suwon), Juningyo (Chungnam Asan), Lim Min-hyuk, Ramas (Busan), Valdivia (Jeonnam), Lee Jae-won, Kang Jung-mook (Cheonan), and Benicio (Chungbuk Cheongju) were listed as the best 11 in the 29th round of the K League 2. The best match was between Gimpo and Jeonnam, and the best team was Gimpo.
