The stars and medalists of the Paris Olympics, who impressed the people on a midsummer night, will participate in the 105th National Sports Festival (hereinafter referred to as the National Sports Festival).

The Korean Sports Council said on the 2nd that a total of 28,153 athletes and executives from 17 cities and provinces nationwide applied to participate in this year's National Sports Festival hosted by the Korean Sports Council and organized by the Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education and the Gyeongsangnam-do Sports Council. Applications for participation were held from the 1st to the 23rd of last month, and 19,159 athletes (12,185 males and 6,974 females) and 8,994 executives applied.

Forty out of 46 national medalists who recaptured the top 10 with 32 medals (13 gold, 9 silver, 10 bronze) and 8th overall at the Paris Olympics have completed their applications, and the heat of Paris in the middle of the summer is expected to lead to the Gyeongnam Games. Oh Sang-wook (Daejeon Metropolitan City Hall), who won his first grand slam in the men's sabre individual event and became the biggest star in the Olympics after winning his first gold medal in women's singles in 28 years since Soo Soo-hyun, Ahn Se-young (Samsung Life Insurance) and Kim Ye-ji (Imsil County Office), a silver medalist in women's shooting who also fell in love with Elon Musk, a descendant of Korean independence fighters and captivated fans with his unique cuteness. Six medalists, including Shin Yu-bin, Jeon Ji-hee and Kim Min-jong, Kim Won-jin, An Baul, and Han Joo-yeop, who were greatly loved in Paris, will be absent due to international competitions and rehabilitation of injuries.

Regarding the decrease in the number of participants by 324 compared to 28,477 last year, the Korean Sports and Olympic Committee explained that it is due to the abolition of the general body building department due to doping problems. Meanwhile, a meeting of city and provincial representatives to explain the overall operation of the National Sports Festival was held at Gimhae Indoor Gymnasium in Gyeongsangnam-do on the 30th of last month, attended by about 500 people including the provincial sports association, provincial education office, and member sports organizations, and 27 tournament events were also drawn. The 105th National Sports Festival will be held in Gyeongnam from the 11th to the 17th of next month, and 49 sports events will be held in 20 cities and counties and 75 stadiums in the province.
