Victor Osimhen, a key Napoli striker with 'Kim Min-jae winning comrade', has joined Galatasaray, a prestigious Turkiye club.

Galatasaray announced the recruitment of Osimen through its official channel on the 3rd (Korea time). The "Official" photo was not posted, but a video of Osimhen's arrival at the airport was released on the club's YouTube. Prior to that, he announced that he would officially enter negotiations with Osimhen, and also released a composite image with the Galatasaray emblem engraved on Osimhen's trademark mask.

As a condition of renting for one season until summer 2025, local media reports said Galatasaray will pay 10 million euros (about 14.8 billion won), Osimen's current annual salary.

Before signing a lease with Galatasaray, Osimen reportedly signed a new contract with Napoli to cut the amount of the buyout clause to 75 million euros (about 111 billion won) in 2025. It was lowered by about 55 million euros (about 81.5 billion won) from the previous buyout amount of 130 million euros (about 19 billion won).

It is a device that makes next summer's transfer easier after returning from the Galatasaray lease.

'Oshimen Saga' heated up the European soccer market this summer. The team that was strongly connected in the early days of the transfer market was Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), where Lee Kang-in was involved. After Kylian Mbappe left for Real Madrid on a free agent, he sought to recruit proven goalscorer Osimhen.

But at one point, PSG moved away from the Osimensaga. There was a reason. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said on the 3rd that `Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) stopped negotiations when Napoli asked to include Lee Kang-in in the Osimhen deal. Since then, PSG have not considered signing Osimhen" he said.

No matter how urgent it is to recruit a striker, the main midfielder, who was recruited last summer and quickly adapted to the team, can be released. Although Lee Kang-in recently played as a second-half substitute, he scored two consecutive goals since the opening, clearly impressing PSG coach Luis Enrique.

The next club to be connected was Chelsea and Saudi Al-Ahli.

Osimhen was criticized for insisting on his existing salary in the transfer market this summer and providing the reason for the collapse of negotiations with Chelsea. Chelsea wanted to take a big pay cut because they felt pressured by the high salary.

A basic agreement was reached with Al-Ahli, but it was reported that the Napoli club suddenly demanded an additional €5 million in transfer fees. Osimhen was reportedly very angry about this.

Victor Osimhen decided to leave for Galatasaray, Turkiye, after being excluded from the Napoli first team.
The Napoli club excluded Osimhen from the Serie A squad and also handed over Osimhen's number 9 to recruit Romelu Lukaku. It was a clear farewell sign.

Osimhen, who crossed the river that cannot be returned, is now forced to look into Saudi Arabia or Turkey, where the transfer market was held until early September. Just in time, Galatasaray, who has huge financial power, reached out and provided a way out.

Osimhen arrived at Istanbul airport around 3 a.m. It was late, but many Galatasaray fans gathered to warmly welcome them.

Osimhen reunited with fellow Napoli-era Belgian winger Dries Mertens in Istanbul.

Galatasaray, which has lost two consecutive Turkiye leagues, has built a strong offensive team that leads to Osimhen, Mauro Icardi, Mickey Vichiai, Hakim Ziyech and Baris Ilmaz.
