There was a variable in which LG starter Eliaser Hernandez was automatically sent off after five pitches in the top of the first inning. Doosan did not miss the opportunity and took a generous lead by making four big innings in the first inning alone. Doosan added one more point in the third inning to take a 5-0 lead.

LG scored a chase with Oh Ji-hwan's superior two-run shot in the bottom of the fourth inning, but Doosan responded with two runs in the top of the fifth inning. LG followed again with three points in the bottom of the fifth inning, but Doosan kept the lead thanks to Yang Seok-hwan's two-run shot in the top of the sixth inning. In the bottom of the sixth inning, LG recovered two runs again, but Doosan completed a seven-run victory in the top of the eighth inning by re-producing a five-run big inning, including Yang Seok-hwan's three-run shot.

LG used eight bullpen pitchers in the first game of a doubleheader due to Hernandez's headshot exit. However, Son Joo-young, the starter in the second game of a doubleheader, played the role of savior.

LG took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Austin and Park Dong-won each hit a solo shot to the left side in the bottom of the fourth inning. Son Joo-young blocked Doosan's batters without a major crisis until the sixth inning, and reached a quality start (more than 6 innings, less than 3 earned runs) with 83 pitches. With Son Joo-young blocked until the seventh inning, LG took the second game of the doubleheader with a two-run victory as Hernandez, who was sent off with a headshot in the first game of the doubleheader, took the mound from the eighth inning and blocked two innings.

LG revived by winning the second game of the doubleheader. He was chased by Doosan by one game due to the loss of the first game, but the gap widened again by two games with the victory of the second game.
