Won Yoo-min (36), the first Paralympian to naturalize for the disabled, was elected as an athlete member of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). He is the second member of the IPC athletes' committee in the history of the Korean Farrellimpian. The first IPC player committee member in Korea is Hong Sung-man (50). At the 75th IPC Executive Committee held in Barcelona, Spain in 2017, all the members present unanimously became members of the IPC Players Committee.
Won Yoo-min, who lost both his legs in a car accident at the age of 4, emigrated to Canada with his family at the age of 12 and became a naturalized Canadian. He was then selected as a member of the Canadian national wheelchair basketball team and participated in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympics. Won Yoo-min, however, regained his Korean nationality in 2017 to participate in the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Paralympics.
Although he failed to participate in the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Paralympics, he represented South Korea at the 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics.
