Another gold medal has been won in Korean para shooting, which has seen a spectacular renaissance again in Paris, France. Shooting team ace Park Jin-ho (47, Gangneung City Hall) won his second gold medal in the R750m rifle 3 position.

At 8:40 p.m. on the 3rd (Korea time), Park Jin-ho shot 454.6 points (150 points for Silsa, 154.4 points for copy, and 150.2 points for the company) in the final round of the men's 50-meter rifle (sports grade SH1) at Chatoru Shooting Center in France, beating Dong Chao (China) with 451.8 points. He also broke records for the Paralympic finals and finals at the same time. The previous Paralympic final was 453.7 points achieved by Suranji Laslo of Serbia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. Park Jin-ho set a new record of 0.9 points. In addition, he broke the 1,173 points achieved by Joo Sung-chul at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics with 1,179 points in the finals.

With this, Park Jin-ho achieved the feat of winning the Korean team's first two gold medals at the Paris Paralympics. Park Jin-ho previously won his first Paralympic gold medal in the men's 10-meter air rifle event in shooting R1 on the 31st of last month.

It is the fourth gold medal of the South Korean team and the third gold medal in shooting. Cho Jung-du (P1 men's 10m air pistol sports grade SH1) won the team's first gold medal in shooting, and Jung Ho-won added a gold medal in the Boccia men's individual (sports grade BC3) at dawn on the 3rd.

Park Jin-ho's 50m rifle 3 positions is a game in which he uses three positions alternately: knee shot (seulsa), prone shot (copy), and standing shot (incident) to hit the target 50m away. Men and women will proceed in the order of seulsa, copying, and joining. In the finals, the top eight players will advance to the finals by shooting 40 shots in each posture and a total of 120 shots.

Park Jin-ho shot 1,179 points out of 1,200 in the finals held earlier in the day, setting a new Paralympic finals record. Shim Young-jip (50, Gangneung City Hall), who participated together, failed to advance to the finals, ranking 17th out of 17 players with 1,114 points (368 points for Seulsa, 382 points for copy, and 364 points for joining the company).

In the final round, they shoot a total of 45 shots, 15 each. After 40 shots (10th shots in the company), the 7th and 8th places are eliminated, and after each shot, one person drops. In the end, in the last 45 shots, only the two players competing for the first place remain.

Park Jin-ho got off to a shaky start in sixth place, scoring 150 points in his first event. However, he shot 154.4 points to rise to third place in the following copy event.

In the last incident event, a great reversal was made. Park Jin-ho jumped to the lead over Marek Dobrowski (Poland), who finished first until the second half. After that, he added 100.2 points until the 10th shot to maintain the top spot, and in the final five shots, he shook off Dong Chao's pursuit and won the gold medal. Park Jin-ho's challenge is not over yet. On the 5th, he will try to win three gold medals in this competition in the 50m rifle radiation SH1 grade in shooting R6.
