'I want to retire from Golden State.'

Stephen Curry, the greatest shooter of all time, certainly emphasized.

In an interview with The Athletic, an American sports magazine, on the 3rd (Korea time), he said, `I want to end my NBA career where I started. His decision to extend the contract was an expression of trust in the (Golden State) organization.

He said 'I always wanted to play for a team throughout my NBA career. This is to fully concentrate on basketball and the season. I am always grateful for the support of those who have traveled with me.'

The Golden State Warriors and Curry signed an extension.

It was officially announced on the 30th of last month. It's a one-year extension for $62.6 million.

Curry, the NBA's highest-paid player, will receive a salary of $55.76 million this season. This contract will receive $62.6 million for the 2026-2027 season. It is the second highest salary in the 2026-2027 season. Damien Lillard, who earns more than 63 million dollars a year, is ranked first.

It is a combination of Curry's desire to play for a team during his NBA career and Golden State's desire to not miss an absolute franchise star.

Clay Thompson, his soulmate, moved to Dallas this summer. If Golden State misses Curry, the team's identity itself will collapse.

Curry still wanted to strengthen his team's strength.

He re-signed with Golden State, but the standards have not changed. Expectations have not changed, either. We need to take necessary steps to get a chance to win the championship.

He also talked about the Paris Olympics.

He participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics as part of the U.S. dream team and gave the U.S. a gold medal. Curry, along with luxurious members such as LeBron James, proved 'why he is the greatest shooter of all time' in Paris.

He was sluggish in the Olympic qualifying round. He even experienced the humiliation of being even 'match-up hunting' due to his weak defense against his opponent.

However, he scored 36 points and nine 3-pointers against Serbia in the semi-final and dominated the match perfectly. It was the same in the final. In the game against France, he produced the peak moment with four consecutive 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.
