Pitcher Lee Min-ho (31), who was trying to make a comeback for the Samsung Lions, was released after a year.

After the regular season, Samsung officially announced on the 29th that it would not renew contracts with six players, including Lee Min-ho.

A total of six people are eligible for release, including pitchers Lee Min-ho, Han Yeon-wook, Jang Jae-hyuk, infielder Kim Min-ho, catcher Kim Se-min and Jung Jin-soo.

Samsung explained, `We have decided not to renew the contract with six players considering both the composition of the team and the direction of development.'

Lee Min-ho, who joined the NC Dinos as a new team's priority in 2012, was a promising pitcher who was praised as the `second Sun Dong-yeol' with a fastball over 150km from a soft pitching form, a sharp slider, and a forkball.

He made 10 saves in 2013, but has been hampered by ups and downs and injuries since then.

In 337 games, he mainly played as a bullpen pitcher, recording 33 wins, 24 losses, 31 saves, and 28 holds. In 2018, his career high season was 5-4 with 14 saves and 4.68 ERA in 50 games. Lee Min-ho, who was released from NC last fall, joined the Samsung Lions at an annual salary of 45 million won through testing late last year. Expectations were high that the bullpen would be an insurance card for Samsung, which has a weak bullpen.

He returned to the mound through constant rehabilitation, but failed to take the mound in the first division. On June 1, one game of the Futures League was the only official game thrown in a Samsung uniform.

Tall right-hander Han Yeon-wook (23) wore a Samsung uniform in the second round of 2020 with 85th place in the ninth round. He had a 6-8 record and 3.64 ERA in 37 games in two seasons in the Futures League without taking the first-team mound. There has been no appearance this season.

Jang Jae-hyuk (22), a right-handed prospect who competed with Jin Seung-hyun (Lotte) in Gyeongbuk High School, wore a Samsung uniform with 83rd place in the second round of 2022. In two seasons in the Futures League without a first-team appearance, he left 52 games with two wins, six losses, one save, eight holds, and a 3.67 ERA. There has been no appearance this season.

Third baseman Kim Min-ho (21), who joined Samsung in the 78th place in the eighth round in 2023, is a promising player with a good physique of 1m85 and 93kg. In 41 games in the Futures League this season, he had a batting average of 0.347 with three home runs, 19 RBIs, a slugging percentage of 0.597 and an on-base percentage of 0.407, showing a strong batting average of 0.300, .400 on-base percentage, and .500 on-base percentage, but he could not avoid the blade of his release.

Catcher Jung Jin-soo (27), who joined the second round of 7 in 2020, and catcher Kim Se-min (22), who ranked 63rd in the second round of 7 in 2021, were difficult to seize the opportunity among many catcher competitors in the team.
