SSG won 4-2 in an away game against LG in Jamsil on the 5th thanks to Kim Kwang-hyun's two runs (one earned run) in six innings. SSG, which has emerged from a three-game losing streak, will be able to run to fifth place again.
LG, whose mistake in the top of the first inning was used as an excuse to give up additional points, finally came to a defeat, widened the gap with the second-place Samsung Lions to four games.
On this day, LG's starting lineup consisted of Hong Chang-ki (right wing), Oh Ji-hwan (striker), Austin (first baseman), Moon Bo-kyung (third baseman), Kim Hyun-soo (left wing), Kim Bum-seok (designated hitter), Koo Bon-hyuk (second baseman), Choi Won-young (middle fielder), and Heo Do-hwan (catcher).
Choi Won-young, who had an RBI single the previous day, started in center field instead of Park Hae-min, who was weak by Kim Kwang-hyun in seven at-bats this season. Kim Bum-seok, who once hit a home run to Kim Kwang-hyun, also sat in the sixth.
SSG made the lineup with Choo Shin-soo (designated hitter), Jung Joon-jae (second baseman), Eredia (left fielder), Han Yu-sum (right fielder), Ko Myung-joon (first baseman), Oh Tae-gon (middle fielder), Lee Ji-young (catcher), Park Ji-hwan (third baseman), and Ahn Sang-hyun (striker). Choi Jung, the main third baseman, and Park Sung-han, the shortstop, were also excluded from the starting lineup. Choi Jung-eun is preparing for the game against the Lotte Giants on the 7th and Park Sung-han, who came out as a pinch hitter the previous day and has since played defense, is scheduled to come out as a pinch hitter again on the same day.
On the previous day, coach Lee Sung-yong, who deployed veteran shortstop Kim Sung-hyun (37) to first baseman Ko Myung-joon (22), second baseman Jung Joon-jae (21), and third baseman Park Ji-hwan (19), also used shortstop Ahn Sang-hyun (27) to make the entire infield team in their 20s.

SSG had another chance in the top of the fourth. Leader Oh Tae-gon hit a double to go out the third base line and made it to second base with no outs. Lee Ji-young and Park Ji-hwan struck out consecutively and became two outs, which seemed to fail, but Ahn Sang-hyun's ball fell toward shortstop after hitting pitcher Choi Won-tae's glove, and Oh Ji-hwan's bare-handed throw fell slightly to the side, making first baseman Austin's foot fall safe. And Choo Shin-soo hit a right-handed hit, and Oh Tae-gon homered. 4-0. Jung Joon-jae struck out swinging and failed to score additional points with two outs and runners on the first and third bases.
At the bottom of the second and third innings, the leadoff batter got on base with consecutive straight walks, but LG, which failed to create a chance due to double play, also made the first base with no outs in the bottom of the fourth inning when Hong Chang-ki, the leader, drew a walk after a full count match. Oh Ji-hwan struck out swinging and got one out. Austin made his team's first hit, creating the first chance with one out and runners on first and second bases. Moon Bo-kyung struck out swinging, but Kim Hyun-soo scored one run of the chase with a clean heavy hit. However, with two outs and runners on the first and second bases, Kim Bum-seok struck out swinging and failed to put any more pressure on him.

LG created a second chance in the bottom of the fifth inning. After one out, Choi Won-young hit a lucky hit that fell in front of center field, and pinch hitter Park Dong-won hit a left-center hit on the first pitch to become the first base. Hong Chang-ki drew a walk from the full count and loaded the bases with one out. Oh Ji-hwan's hit was amazing. It hit right in front and bounced high and fell right in front of catcher Lee Ji-young. Lee Ji-young caught the ball while stepping home, making it an automatic force-out. With the bases loaded with two outs, Austin's ball flowed toward the shortstop, but shortstop Ahn Sang-hyun did not catch it properly. It was a mistake and 2-4. However, when Moon Bo-kyung struck out swinging, LG missed another chance to chase.
LG got on base with a walk in the bottom of the eighth inning, but when Moon Bo-kyung struck out, he was out while stealing second base, quickly becoming two outs and losing the chance.
Closer Cho Byung-hyun, who took the mound in the bottom of the ninth inning, caught Lee Young-bin, Koo Bon-hyuk and Choi Won-young in turn to secure his fifth save of the season.
SSG starter Kim Kwang-hyun broke his four-game losing streak against LG. Kim Kwang-hyun, who lost three games and had an 11.50 ERA this season following one loss last year, recovered his self-esteem by allowing five hits, four walks, six strikeouts and two runs (one earned run) in six innings while throwing 103 pitches. With nine wins (nine losses) of the season, he has only one win left for his 11th 10th win.
