KIA beat Kiwoom 6-2 at Kia Champions Field in Gwangju on the 7th. In the bottom of the first inning, Kiwoom starter Kim In-beom scored three points, and Socrates' two-run shot widened the gap in the bottom of the second inning. Starter Eric Stout won his first KBO League debut with one run in five innings. KIA, which won three consecutive games on the day, recorded 79 wins, two draws and 50 losses in the season. With 13 games left in the pennant race, KIA's winning magic number will be reduced from 9 to 7 as the gap with second-place Samsung (72 wins, 2 draws and 57 losses) widens by 7 games.

Kiwoom scored a comeback in the top of the second inning. With Kim Hye-sung's right-handed hit, Choi Joo-hwan's walk, Ko Young-woo's sacrifice fly, and Kim Byung-hoo's dune, right fielder Na Sung-beom missed Kim Jae-hyun's fly ball, and Kim Hye-sung homered in the meantime. However, Park Soo-jong failed to tie the game as he only hit a double play by the second baseman.

Stout continued to pitch without losing a run while getting runners on base every inning. In the top of the third inning, he finished the inning by handling Choi Joo-hwan with a fly ball with two outs and runners on the first and second bases made by Lee Ju-hyung's infield hit and Kim Hye-sung's heavy hit. After one out in the fourth inning, he gave up a left-handed hit to Kim Byung-hwi and allowed him to advance with wild pitches, but he overcame the crisis by striking out Kim Jae-hyun and Park Soo-jong one after another. In the fifth inning, he also gave up a walk to Song Sung-moon and a hit to right-center to Kim Hye-sung after two outs, putting him on the verge of being on the first and third bases with two outs, but he succeeded in meeting the winning requirements by striking out Choi Joo-hwan.
