Doosan is just one game away from the third-place LG Twins. Doosan beat LG 14-7 in the first game of a doubleheader at Jamsil Stadium on the 21st. Starter Kwak Bin allowed seven runs in five ⅓ innings, but Yang Seok-hwan led the attack by adding back-to-back hits such as a two-run shot in the first inning, a three-run shot in the sixth inning, and a three-run shot in the eighth inning. Foreign batter Jarrod Young played a four-hit game, and Kim Jae-ho also helped with three RBIs. With the victory, Doosan is one game away from third-place LG (71 wins, two draws and 65 losses) with five consecutive wins and 70 wins, two draws and 66 losses. LG, who went on a forced bullpen day amid a variable in which starter Eliaser Hernandez was automatically sent off after just four pitches, chased with Oh Ji-hwan's two-run shot, but bowed his head as the mound failed to withstand Doosan's lineup.

LG chased one more point in the bottom of the fifth inning as Hong Chang-ki made a timely hit to the left following Park Hae-min's double to the left. With the bases loaded with one out made by Moon Sung-joo Austin's consecutive hits, Moon Bo-kyung made a two-run timely hit and followed up to a two-run gap. However, Kim Hyun-soo failed to turn the tables as he threw a fly ball and Oh Ji-hwan struck out. Doosan made it 9-5 in the top of the sixth inning when Kim Jae-hwan walked against LG Kim Yoo-young after one out, and Yang Seok-hwan fired a two-run shot to the left to complete 30 home runs-100 RBIs.

Doosan regained a five-run lead in the top of the eighth inning when Yang Seok-hwan hit a three-run shot to left-center in the second and third bases with no outs caught by Yang Eui-ji's walk and Kim Jae-hwan's preferred double. In the subsequent at-bat, Jared's double to left-center and Lee Yoo-chan's timely hit came out to win 13-7. When Lee Yoo-chan's timely hit came out, LG manager Yeom Kyung-yeop put Lee Woo-chan on the mound instead of Lee Jong-joon, and started preparing for the second game early by replacing a large number of fielders.
