In Game 3 of the playoffs against the Samsung Lions at Jamsil Stadium on the 17th, LG won 1-0 with starter Lim Chan-kyu's scoreless pitching in five ⅓ and Elijah Hernandez's save in three ⅔.
Lim Chan-kyu, a LG children's member who saw his team lose to Samsung in the 2002 Korean Series, took personal revenge 22 years later by becoming a playoff winning pitcher to Samsung as an LG pitcher. LG also escaped from the brink of elimination and had hope for a series turnaround.
Following starter Hwang Dong-jae, Samsung mobilized the bullpen to block LG's batters with the least number of runs, but failed to finish in Game 3 because the trusted lineup did not explode.

Samsung filled the seat without Koo Ja-wook with Yoon Jung-bin. Kim Ji-chan (center fielder), Kim Heon-gon (left wing), Yoon Jung-bin (right wing), Diaz (first baseman), Park Byung-ho (designated hitter), Kang Min-ho (captor), Kim Young-woong (third baseman), Lee Jae-hyun (striker), and Ryu Ji-hyuk (second baseman). Yoon Jung-bin, who hit three hits and scored three runs in Game 1, and Kim Hun-gon, who hit three hits and scored four RBIs in Game 2, were used to fill Koo Ja-wook's vacancy. Lee Jae-hyun injured his ankle during training, so he changed his shortstop to a complacent type, but he improved again and put it back in the lineup.
LG manager Yeom Kyung-yeop prepared a cliff-edge tactic in which Eliaser Hernandez was immediately attached after starting pitcher Lim Chan-kyu. On the other hand, coach Park Jin-man left only about four innings to starter Hwang Dong-jae and later announced plans to block LG's batters by operating the bullpen. If he can finish with Game 3, he said he would also consider putting Reyes, who started Game 1, at the end.

However, LG's Lim Chan-kyu firmly blocked Samsung's batters.
Lim Chan-kyu, who finished the first and second innings with three outs, allowed Ryu Ji-hyuk to hit to the left at the bottom of the third inning after two outs, but held Kim Ji-chan to the third baseman's fly and kept scoreless.
As Samsung starter Hwang Dong-jae unexpectedly blocked a scoreless run until the third inning, Samsung also pressured Lim Chan-kyu by creating its first scoring chance in the top of the fourth inning. Yoon Jeong-bin and Park Byung-ho had hits to make runners on the first and third bases with two outs. Kang Min-ho, who has never been to the Korean Series since his debut, took the batter's box to score first, but swung and missed to strike out.

LG, who beat and beat, scored the first point.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Park Dong-won drew a walk and made a one-out second base with Park Hae-min's sacrifice bunt. And Moon Sung-joo hit a heavy hit. However, center fielder Kim Ji-chan defended extremely forward, and Park Dong-won stopped at third base when he was on second base. With one out and runners on the first and third bases, Hong Chang-ki hit a sacrifice fly deep in the left field, and Park Dong-won finally homered and made it 1-0.
Samsung replaced the pitcher with Song Eun-beom. When Shin Min-jae drew a walk from Song Eun-beom and reached first and second bases, Samsung called Kim Yoon-soo again. Following the first and second rounds, the third match between Kim Yoon-soo and Austin took place. This time, Austin hit the first pitch. He hit a 154km outside fastball, but a normal fly to right field. Kim Yoon-soo won again this time, and LG failed to score additional points.
After the lead Kim Hun-gon retired with a fly to left field in the top of the sixth inning, LG also replaced the pitcher. Putting down Lim Chan-gyu and putting up Hernandez. When left-handed batters with long balls came up, the plan was to block Hernandez with good ball power.

Yoon Jung-bin hit a home run against Hernandez. However, he was caught by Hong Chang-ki in front of the right fence. If it were Daegu, it would have been a home run, but it was caught as Jamsil. Diaz also flies out to left field.
Samsung had a chance to tie the game after two outs in the top of the seventh inning. Right fielder Hong Chang-ki tried to deal with Kim Young-woong's right-handed hit no-bound but dropped it back, making it a triple. However, Lee Jae-hyun was out with a fly to center field, and zero continued.
LG was also unstable with one point, but no additional points came out. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Moon Sung-joo hit a single after one out and was replaced by pinch runner Kim Dae-won to score an additional score, but Hong Chang-ki hit a double play and failed.
Samsung again created a chance with two outs and runners on first and second bases with Kim Ji-chan's infield hit and Yoon Jung-bin's walk in the top of the seventh inning. And Diaz's at-bat. If it was a home run, it was a sudden turnaround, but Diaz's ball headed toward second base and the shortstop was waiting.
Samsung was also evaluated as having a weak bullpen, but it did not collapse to LG's batting lineup. After Hwang Dong-jae, left-hander Lee Seung-hyun, Song Eun-beom, Kim Yoon-soo, Lee Sang-min, Kim Tae-hoon, and Lim Chang-min gave up a total of five hits and allowed only one run.
In the end, the lineup did not explode. Hernandez came out until the top of the ninth. He struck out Park Byung-ho and pinch hitter Lee Sung-kyu, and even Kim Young-woong struck out swinging, pitched as many as three ⅓ innings and saved two hits, one walk, and four strikeouts to save LG from the brink with Lim Chan-kyu.
