The New York Yankees have only one win left to advance to the World Series.

The Yankees beat the Cleveland Guardians 8-6 in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS) at Progressive Field on the 19th (Korea time).

The Yankees, who gave up a game in Game 3 of the previous day after getting a tie-breaking shot by Jankensi Noel in the bottom of the ninth inning and a walk-off shot by David Fry in the bottom of the 10th inning, drove the series to 3-1 on the same day as they were caught in the tension of a come-from-behind loss in the second half of the game. If the Yankees add one more win, they will reach the World Series for the first time in 15 years since 2009.

In the best-of-seven postseason series in history, a team with a 3-1 lead until Game 4 has won the series 79 times out of 93, with an 85% probability.

Game 5 between the two teams will be held at 9:08 a.m. on the 20th at the same place. Carlos Rodon for the Yankees and Tanner Bybee for Cleveland are scheduled to start.

The Yankees took the lead with Juan Soto's two-run homer in the top of the first inning. Soto, who took the batter's box after lead Gleyber Torres went out with a right-handed hit, pulled a 98.4-mile fastball in the middle of Cleveland starter Gavin Williams' fifth pitch in 3B1S and well over the right-center fence.

It is Soto's second home run of the postseason since his first solo shot in the bottom of the third inning of the first ALCS game on the 15th with a 35-degree launch angle, 113.3 miles of batting speed and 414 feet of distance.

When Cleveland recovered one point with Jose Ramirez's sacrifice fly with runners on the second and third bases with no outs in the bottom of the first inning, the Yankees widened the gap again to 3-1 with Austin Wells' solo shot in the top of the second inning. Austin hit a 96.6-mile fastball on Williams' second pitch to hit it over the middle fence.

The game was tense as Cleveland narrowed it down again with Josh Naylor's missed hit to the left in the bottom of the third inning with two outs and a second base.

However, the Yankees rekindled the mood in the top of the sixth inning with Giancarlo Stanton's three-run home run. Stanton, a one-out runner on second and third bases with a walk from lead Soto, a hit from Aaron Judge to left, and a sacrifice bunt from Jazz Chisom Jr., pulled right-hander Cade Smith's 94.2-mile out fastball and connected it to a three-run shot that went well over the left fence. This is Stanton's fourth arch this fall, with a 30-degree launch angle, a 105.7-mile batting speed and a 404-foot distance.

However, the chase in the second half of Cleveland reminded the Yankees of the previous night's nightmare.

Cleveland, which had a chance to hit 1.3 base with no outs with a walk by the leadoff Bryan Lockie and a hit by Stephen Kwan in the bottom of the seventh inning, added three runs with Ramirez's double on the right-field line and Josh Naylor's double to right-center after one out while the Yankees pitcher was changed to Clay Holmes.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, he took advantage of a Yankees error to tie the game 6-6. Fry's ground ball, which was made by Bonaylor's double to the right, hit pitcher Mark Leiter Jr.'s glove and flowed toward first base. The lighter caught it again and threw it to first base, but first baseman Anthony Rizzo did not receive it, so third baseman Naylor homered, and the batter advanced to second base. Fry's infield hit on record and lighter's throw error.

However, the Yankees quickly took the lead again in the top of the ninth inning. The first-runner Lizzo's left-handed hit, Anthony Wolfie's right-center hit, and second-base steal gave him a chance to hit the second and third bases with no outs. After Wells struck out, the third baseman homered as the opposing shortstop Lokio missed Alex Verdugo's ground ball, followed by a chance with one out and runners on the first and third bases. Torres went on to hit a heavy hit, widening the gap to 8-6.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Tommy Canley took the mound as the closing pitcher and allowed one hit, one walk, and one scoreless inning to keep the win.
