The BBC reported on the 29th (Korea time) 'Real Madrid was selected as the club of the year, but did not attend the Ballon d'Or award ceremony. 'Because instead of ace striker Vinicius Junior, Manchester City Rodri won the award for best male player...'
AFP and Spanish media reported that `Champions League winners Real Madrid said they would not go to a place where Vinicius was disrespected after hearing that he had been eliminated from the Ballon d'Or.'
Real Madrid won individual awards for both coach Carlo Ancelotti and striker Kylian Mbappe, as well as club of the year, but neither was present.
The Ballon d'Or is an award given to the best player of the year. Spain's national team Rodri beat Vinicius and Jude Bellingham to win the men's Ballon d'Or.
Vinicius was also a strong candidate. He was the top scorer last season, leading Real Madrid to victory in the Champions League and La Liga.
However, the world's top midfielder Rodri won, and Vinicius expressed discontent.
In a post on his social media, he said 'I'll do it ten times if necessary.'
