The Korean national open water swimming team left for Hong Kong to participate in international competitions.

The Korea Swimming Federation (Chairman Chung Chang-hoon) said five members of the national open water swimming team left for Hong Kong on the morning of the 23rd to participate in the fourth Open Water Swimming World Cup hosted by the World Aquatics (AQUA). Open water swimming is a long-distance swimming event held in nature such as rivers, lakes, and seas, of which the 10km event was adopted as an official event from the 2008 Beijing Olympics and is also called 'marathon swimming'.Sung Joon-ho (Hanche University), Lee Hae-rim (Gyeongbuk Provincial Government), and Hwang Ji-yeon (Gyeongnam Sports High School) will compete in the 10km individual event and the mixed 6km team event, respectively, with Park Jae-hoon (Seogaegu City Hall), the men's marathon swimming bronze medalist at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, coached by Kim In-kyun. The national team, which has trained as the national team of the federation until 2023, has been officially adopted as a training event for strengthening the national team of the Korean Sports Council since June and has been conducting out-of-town training in Nakdonggang River and other parts of the country. Coach Kim In-kyun, who led Kim Seo-young's 200m individual medley gold medal at the 2018 Jakarta Palembang Asian Games, is an ambitious team aiming for an Olympic medal.

Head coach Kim In-kyun expressed expectations, saying, `As it is an overseas training camp with the support of the Korean Sports Council, all the athletes are motivated and motivated.' `Since last summer, we have focused on high-intensity training indoors and outdoors, so if we play confidently, there will be good results.'
