Cho Woo-young (21), who is trying to win his second KPGA (Korea Professional Golf) Tour, took a strong step forward.

In the first round of the KPGA (Korea Professional Golf) Tour Baeksong Holdings-Asiad CC Busan Open (total prize money of 1 billion won, winning prize money of 200 million won), which will be held at Asiad Country Club Pine and Lake Course (par 71, 7104 yards) in Gijang, Busan on the 10th, Cho Woo-young recorded 6 under 65 with 7 birdies and 1 bogey. Cho Woo-young, who tied for fourth at the Hyundai Marine & Marine Insurance Choi Kyung-ju Invitational last week, raised expectations for her second win by posting the best first-round score among the previous 16 tournaments.

Cho Woo-young, who started the in-course, scored his first birdie at the 13th hole (par 3) and then garnered a birdie at the 14th hole (par 4) to boost the atmosphere. He also recorded birdies in the 17th and 18th holes, respectively, reducing four pars in the first half. Cho Woo-young, who added birdies in the 1st, 4th, and 7th holes (par 4), missed a 2m par putt in the 8th hole (par 4) for his first bogey. However, he made a par save at the 9th hole (par 5), finishing the first day at 6 under par.

Cho Woo-young, a former member of the national team, recorded his first KPGA Tour victory when he won the golf zone open Jeju in April last year as an amateur. He won the gold medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games that year. He has made three top-10 finishes in 16 tournaments this year, his first full-time tour season since turning professional.

After the game, Cho Woo-young said, "Second shots and putts went so well. I think that's why I increased the probability of birdies when I kept the fairway"If you used to play emotional golf before, it was effective to try to keep the fairway rationally today."I looked back. He said "If I had a lot of haste when I was an amateur, I think I could show you a lot of the side of professional Jo Woo-young now."I think golf doesn't work just because you have a good sense. I feel that I have to concentrate every hole and play it,' he added.

Cho Woo-young, who showed his willingness to enter the U.S. after winning the gold medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games, said, `I don't want to rush. I changed my mind a little because I felt that I wanted to go when I was confident. "I think it's also important to have a professional posture. There are a lot of things that I feel precious while meeting with my fans."

Cho Woo-young said "It has different characteristics for each hole to target. I wonder if sophisticated iron shots will be key." He expressed his will to promote the game.
