In 1982, the first year of professional baseball, he took a path that no one had ever gone as a pitcher and batter. He pitched in 26 games as a pitcher, winning 10 games (5 losses) and posting a 2.79 ERA. He pitched three complete games and was responsible for 106 ⅓ innings. He played in all 80 games as a batter and posted a batting average of 35-97 hits, 13 home runs, and 69 RBIs. He became the RBI king and hit third and home run fourth, filling the regular innings with a pitcher. He also opened the era of 30 home runs in the Korean professional baseball league in 1988.
It naturally reminds me of Shohei Ohtani (LA Dodgers), who shook the Major League with his ability to serve as both a pitcher and a batter. Former KIA Tigers coach Kim Sung-han (66) said, `It doesn't make sense to compare him to a great player like Otani. I'm just grateful to remember that there was a player who also pitched in the early days of professional baseball.
He joined Haitai through Gunsan Jungang Elementary School, Gunsan Middle School, Gunsan Sang High School, and Dongguk University. I played 14 years as a professional baseball player. He has been with baseball for more than 10 years as a coach and manager of a professional team, and more than 50 years as a broadcast commentator. He also served as the director of his alma mater Gunsan Commercial High School.
Former head coach Kim published an autobiography looking back on his 50-year baseball career. 'My life: Growing up in a baseball field, growing up in Mudeungsan Mountain' was released. A publishing ceremony will be held at the JS Wedding Convention in Gwangju at 3 p.m. on November 1.
Former manager Kim said "Playing baseball makes me think it's Kim Sung-han or nothing. In fact, if you watch baseball separately, so many people will recognize that Kim Sung-han has something to see, and I will greet him happily. The most brilliant and intense time of my life was, of course, when I was wearing a uniform"
Time changed him little by little. The past decade or so has been a time to put down little by little. Former head coach Kim said, `30 years after ending his career as a leader

"As I get older, I quit my career, my leadership career, and I was so frustrated and wandering, but I think I've grown up a little bit by hitting the floor and getting up and challenging myself with your help." I thought I was grateful for what I was thankful for, and I knew that people were precious because of my past life as Kim Sung-han, a natural person"
Former head coach Kim thanked many people. One of the reasons for releasing the book was because I wanted to express my gratitude.
He was born in a poor family in Gunsan, lost his parents early, and grew up in a team accommodation instead of home, and had no way to live except to become a baseball player, when he became a player and manager of the Haitai Tigers and received applause and support from many people. Kim talked about teachers Lee Joon-won, Song Kyung-seop, and Choi Kwan-soo, who were teachers in elementary, middle and high schools.
