The second game of the semi-playoff between KT and LG held at Jamsil Baseball Stadium on the 6th, LG won 7-2. Lim Chan-kyu, the daily MVP of the second round of the semi-PO, is posing. Jamsil = Reporter Heo Sang-wook wook@sportschosun.com /2024.10.06/
Will Lim Chan-kyu advance LG to the playoffs.

As the LG Twins suffered a come-from-behind loss in Game 4, the game eventually continued until Game 5. In the early 3-1 lead, starter Detrick Ness allowed a concentrated hit in the bottom of the fourth inning, leading to a 3-4 reversal and eventually failing to overturn it again.

Game 5 starting matchups are the same as Game 2. Lim Chan-kyu will come out for LG and Um Sang-baek will take the mound for KT. The two won the second game and shared the cards.

Lim Chan-kyu became the winning pitcher with seven hits, no four outs, four strikeouts, and two runs (one earned run) during five ⅓ innings. Um Sang-baek became a losing pitcher with six hits, two walks, two strikeouts and four runs in four innings. Lim Chan-kyu threw 92 and Um Sang-baek threw 81 and took the mound after four days off.

Lim Chan-kyu won his first postseason start since his debut. He has been weak in the postseason. In the regular season, he consistently started as a starting pitcher, but in the postseason, his position was often changed to an intermediate pitch.

Since last year, he has been living a new pitcher's life by properly mixing fastballs and curve change-up sliders to pitch fast enough to produce a fast enough effect even with a not-fast fastball.

Lim Chan-kyu, who won the most domestic pitchers with 14 wins last year and signed an FA contract of up to 5 billion won for four years, showed off his consistency by winning 10 games in the first two consecutive years of his career.

In particular, the pace at the end of the season was huge. After a shocking slump in allowing seven runs in two ⅔ against NC on August 9, he played an ace in the second half with six quality starts and a 1.66 ERA in seven games.

In the game against KT this season, he pitched very stably with three wins, no losses and an ERA of 2.70 in four games, but he clearly broke his jinx of being weak in big games by showing his true value properly in the second round of the semi-PO.

If LG throws Game 5 like Game 2, LG can have a chance to go to the playoffs. Since the bullpen is tired, it is necessary to drag Lim Chan-kyu as long as possible.

In an interview after winning the second game, Lim Chan-kyu said "I think I can change my fall career with this game." It's an opportunity to show the changed Lim Chan-kyu one more time.
