Chelsea internally believes Cole Palmer is a talent to win the Ballon d'Or.

In an interview with the British Telegraph on the 16th (Korea Standard Time), Chelsea Sports Director Paul Winstenley was confident of Palmer's success. He said "Palmer can undoubtedly grow up (to become the best player in the world). He is a player who stands out on the field. It's the same in training, and it's the same in games. He has the ability to be so."

Palmer is on his way to the best recruitment in Chelsea's 21st century club history. Palmer was considered to have high potential since he grew up in Manchester City. Manchester City was waiting for Palmer to grow, but there were so many good players in the team that Palmer lacked time to play.

Then Chelsea sent Manchester City an offer of around 48 million euros (about 71.2 billion won) for Palmer. When an unconventional offer came to a player who has shown little on the first-team stage yet, he readily accepted it as Manchester City.

Palmer's potential exploded as soon as he moved to Chelsea. He scored 22 goals and 11 assists in the league alone, recording the most offensive points in the English Premier League (EPL) last season. He quickly became a superstar as he ranked second in scoring and second in assists. If Chelsea had a better performance, Palmer had a player of the year performance in the league.

Palmer plays as an offensive midfielder, but he doesn't care about his position. The movement from soccer intelligence is so excellent. Also, the skill of handling the ball is very good. It is already in the final stage when it comes to kicks and passes. Even considering that there were many penalty points, Palmer's scoring ability was really different.

This season, Palmer still has six goals and five assists, ranking second in scoring, second in assists and first in overall points of attack. No player in the league has scored more attacking points than Palmer since Palmer moved to Chelsea. More than that monstrous Elling Holan. Palmer's stock price is soaring as soon as he moves to Chelsea, with 30 finalists for the Ballon d'Or.

Even Winston Lee, who recruited a player, didn't know Palmer would be this good. "Palmer has shown great desire to come to Chelsea," he said. He was a player with the character and desire we wanted. I'm so happy that it's developed incredibly quickly."

Chelsea immediately offered Palmer a renewal, and Palmer is a Chelsea player until 2033. If he plays for the remaining nine years while maintaining his current performance, Palmer will be able to rise to the club's all-time best player ranks.

Director Winston Lee said "If Palmer were to go on the market right now, his value would be much higher. That's for sure. His performance was remarkable."
