Kim Jong-kyu 16 points DB, beat Hyundai Mobis to the final. Suwon KT to win the championship

DB won 81:75 after a close race against Ulsan Hyundai Mobis in the semifinals of the '2024 DB Insurance KBL Cup in Jecheon' held at Jecheon Gymnasium on the 12th. This marks the second time since 2021 that DB has reached the final of the Cup. The final match was decided by Suwon KT, which defeated Daegu Korea Gas Corporation 75-68.
While Kim Jong-kyu (16 points and 8 rebounds) and Chinano Onuaku (9 points and 12 rebounds) built strong posts, Lee Sun-bano (15 points, 7 assists, 3 steals), Robert Carter (11 points, 4 assists) and Lee Kwan-hee (12 points, 2 steals, 3 3-point shots) scored with fast speed and accurate fieldwork, defeating the chase of Hyundai Mobis (28 points, 7 rebounds), Lee Woo-seok (17 points, 8 rebounds) and Ham Ji-hoon (14 points and 6 rebounds).
Early in the first quarter, DB's advanced speed overwhelmed Hyundai Mobis. Albano and Lee Kwan-hee and Kim Young-hyun combined for seven steals, embarrassing Hyundai Mobis. Hyundai Mobis was shaken by eight errors. Onuaku and Kim Jong-kyu easily scored at the post to take a 19-14 lead.
The gap widened in the second quarter. Lee Kwan-hee's two three-pointers and Carter and Albano's scoring ability burst to finish the first half with a double-digit lead of 46-31.
However, Hyundai Mobis' second half counterattack shone. Long and Lee Woo-suk and Ham Ji-hoon followed 59-66 by accumulating points. Hyundai Mobis' field fight broke out well. A turnaround in the fourth quarter was expected.
DB finished well. Kim Jong-kyu continued to score the post with confidence. Hyundai Mobis followed 75-77 with Lee Woo-suk, Long and Kim Kook-chan scoring seven consecutive points two minutes before the end of the game. We have a minute left. However, following Albano's two-point field throw, Onuaku and Kim Jong-kyu grabbed a defensive rebound, and Lee Kwan-hee's two-point shot succeeded just before the end to determine the victory.

KT led the first quarter 23-18 with Han Hee-won's three points and Hemmonds and Ha Yoon-ki's under-the-goal points. However, Korea Gas Corporation turned the tables in the second quarter. Sam Joseph Vellangel's three-pointer and Andrew Nicholson's back-to-back score set the stage for the turnaround. In the end, Vellangel's 3-point shot hit at the end of the second quarter, and Korea Gas Corporation came from behind 43-42.
Korea Gas Corporation continued its lead in the third quarter, reaching the fourth quarter 60-56. Korea Gas Corporation led until the end of the fourth quarter. However, KT, which was trailing 67-68 with two minutes left in the end, turned the tide to 73-68 with consecutive points from Ha Yoon-ki, Han Hee-won and Huh Hoon. Moon Jung-hyun scored both free throws with 14 seconds left to seal the victory.
