KIA manager Lee Bum-ho made the starting lineup with Park Chan-ho (striker), Socrates (left wing), Kim Do-young (third baseman), Choi Hyung-woo (designated hitter), Na Sung-bum (right wing), Kim Sun-bin (second baseman), Choi Won-joon (middle fielder), Kim Tae-gun (possession) and Seo Geon-chang (first baseman) in Game 1 of the Korean Series against the Samsung Lions at Kia Champions Field in Gwangju on the 21st. James Nail will start.
Kim Do-young served as the starting point for the clean-up trio. Kim Do-young, who has 38 home runs and 40 steals this season, is a batter with an unrivalled baserunning ability as well as slugging power. Prior to Choi Hyung-woo and Na Sung-beom, he will take on the heavy responsibility of continuing the scoring line along with the role of troubleshooter.
Seo Geon-chang will also start as first baseman. Having experienced the Korean Series in 2014 and 2019 respectively when he was a Heroes player, he left LG last year and played all-weather as a starter-backup this season in his hometown team KIA uniform. He will wear the first baseman's glove in the first game of the Korean Series, which has a 72.5% chance of winning.
Kim Tae-gun took the starting catcher position. Kim Tae-gun, who joined the Korean Series entry with Han Jun-su and Han Seung-taek, has a strong pitching lead with abundant experience. Manager Lee is drawing a picture of using Han Jun-su and Han Seung-taek alternately depending on the game situation.
