Girona and Korea's proud talent Kim Min-soo made their La Liga debut.

Girona lost 0-1 in the 10th round of the Spanish Primera Liga in 2024-2025 season against Real Sociedad at Munisipal de Montilivi in Girona, Spain on the 20th (Korea time). We lost unfortunately after failing to recover one goal lost to Mikel Oyarsabal.

However, there was a debut of an amazing player in the game. It was Kim Min-soo. Kim Min-soo took the opportunity to make his La Liga debut by being listed on the replacement list while a large number of Girona first-team players were injured ahead of the match.

In the 27th minute of the second half, Kim Min-soo, who was replaced by Alejandro Franses and took the ground, stepped up as a right winger. There was also one shot that was not recognized due to offside, and he played about 22 minutes, including extra time, recording 11 touches, 6 passes, and 1 tackle. He was nervous and fell in place, but he moved actively overall and contributed to Girona's attack. In particular, the fact that head coach Miguel Sanchez put in Kim Min-soo at a time when Girona is trailing 0-1 is nothing short of showing a clear belief in Kim Min-soo even at a young age.

Through his La Liga debut, Kim Min-soo became the eighth Korean La Liga player in history. Earlier, Lee Chun-soo, Lee Ho-jin, Park Joo-young, Kim Young-kyu, Lee Kang-in, Baek Seung-ho and Ki Sung-yueng took the stage in La Liga, and Kim Min-soo followed suit. He was also listed as the second player to take the La Liga stage after Baek Seung-ho as a member of Girona.

Prospect Kim Min-soo, who was born in 2006, went through Dongseon Elementary School and Gwangju Elementary School in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do, and moved to Spain as a child to start living abroad. Kim Min-soo, who went through CE Mercantile and CF wall in 2020, joined the Girona U-19 (under 19) team in 2022. Kim Min-soo, who performed well at the time, was called up to Team B soon after. While playing with outstanding prospects in Girona B team, his talent stood out. It was considered one of Girona Academy's greatest talents.

In the summer of 2023, he played a pre-season with first-team players, drawing great attention, and even scored in friendly matches against UE Ulot and Andorra in the fourth division. This summer, he played in a friendly match against Napoli and also appeared in the first-team shootings. Last season and this season have continued to be included in Girona's B team, raising expectations for Girona's first-team call-up.

They also renewed their contracts this summer. Girona was able to sign a professional contract with Kim Min-soo, who turned 18, and did not miss this opportunity and signed an extension immediately. The Girona Academy has officially announced that it has decided to extend its existing contract by three years until the summer of 2027. After renewing the contract, Kim Min-soo showed good performance in Team B.

It has already been well received in the Spanish media. Spain's Sport praised Kim Min-soo's performance award, saying, `Pearl from Girona.' Sport showed that Kim Min-soo's embroidered No. 7 on the back of his uniform was further ahead at the youth league level against Feyenoord. Kim Min-soo, who has already shown a dynamic appearance in Team B rather than the youth team, was a headache for Feyenoord's defense. He moves freely throughout the attack and is more like a player to play for Team B. He has already scored three goals in the first half of the season for Team B, and it is not surprising to see him flirting with the players as he is growing fast.

"Girona's sporting director, Quique Carcel, then noted the development of young players in the game where the club won its second youth league. Throughout the first half, when there was no opportunity, only Kim Min-soo performed magic, and he scored.

Through this first-team debut, attention is focused on how often Kim Min-soo will be able to show his face on the first-team stage for the rest of the season. Attention is also focusing on whether Kim Min-soo will be able to continue the special talent lineage of the Korean La Liga, which was cut off after Lee Kang-in.
