There is a slight change.
KIA Tigers manager Lee Bum-ho put Park Chan-ho (striker), Socrates (left fielder), Kim Do-young (third baseman), Choi Hyung-woo (designated hitter), Na Sung-bum (right fielder), Kim Sun-bin (second baseman), Lee Woo-sung (first baseman), Kim Tae-gun (fouler), and Choi Won-jun (middle fielder) in the starting lineup in Game 2 of the 2024 Korean Series against the Samsung Lions at Kia Champions Field in Gwangju on the 23rd. The starting pitcher is Yang Hyun-jong. Lee Woo-sung appeared in the lineup instead of Seo Geon-chang, who started as the first baseman in the first game. Choi Won-joon, who played the seventh batter in Game 1, passed down the batting order to Lee Woo-sung and went down to the ninth batting order.
Lee Woo-sung drew concern because his batting sense did not recover easily in training compared to the Korean Series. However, he showed good performance in 112 games this season with a batting average of 288 (115 hits in 399 at-bats), nine homers and 54 RBIs, and an on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS) of 0.762. Above all, he gained trust by performing well from the first year when he changed his position from right fielder to first baseman.
Samsung, which has to make up for its first-round loss, also focused on the change.
Samsung coach Park Jin-man made the lineup with Kim Ji-chan (center fielder), Kim Heon-gon (left wing), Diaz (first baseman), Kang Min-ho (possession), Kim Young-woong (third baseman), Park Byung-ho (designated hitter), Ryu Ji-hyuk (second baseman), Lee Jae-hyun (striker), and Kim Hyun-jun (right wing). Hwang Dong-jae was the starting pitcher. Kim Hyun-joon replaced Yoon Jeong-bin, who played right field in the first game. Ryu Ji-hyuk, who was placed in the 9th batting order in the first game and recorded 1 hit in 3 at-bats, went up to the 7th batting order, and Kim Hyun-joon was placed in the 9th.
