Most of the Doosan Bears players who gave proxy prescriptions by force and intimidation from former national team player Oh Jae-won were suspended from prosecution.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office announced on the 15th that it has indicted Oh Jae-won without detention on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act (taste).

From January last year to March this year, Oh Jae-won was accused of receiving 2,242 tablets (a sleep-inducing agent with zolpidem), a psychotropic drug, 89 times from active players such as baseball players, and buying 20 tablets of Steel Knox tablets by stealing their names.

It is known that most of the players participated in the proxy prescription because they could not beat Oh Jae-won's threats and hierarchical order.

Oh Jae-won's position was different when he was active. From 2015 to 2021, he led Doosan's heyday by being the captain except for 2016. Doosan won the Korean Series in 2015 and the combined championship in 2016 and 2019.

Oh Jae-won was found to have informed specific proxy prescriptions at the same time as threats such as "I'm going to kill my arm" and "I'm going to kill you". Oh Jae-won's coercive request continued regardless of pitchers and fielders. One player said, `One day, I asked for sleeping pills. Everyone said it's okay to do it and asked for it", he explained.

The prosecution demanded that young players in their early and mid-20s or players in the first and second teams be prescribed sleeping pills using their status as captains or baseball seniors within the club"It was difficult to reject the request using the senior status " he explained.

All but one of Doosan's active players were suspended from prosecution. However, a summary indictment was imposed on one person.

Earlier on the 10th, the prosecution demanded a four-month prison term for Oh Jae-won on the charges. A sentencing hearing on additional charges will be held on the 24th.

In addition, he was sentenced to two years and six months in prison in the first trial on charges of taking methamphetamine. Both Oh Jae-won and the prosecution appealed, and an appeals trial will be held on the 30th.
