The New York Yankees unveiled their World Series rotation early on. Ace Gerrit Cole will play the first game.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone held a local interview at the Yankee Stadium on the 22nd (Korean time) when he conducted autonomous training and said, "I haven't confirmed the rotation order yet, but Cole is the first starter."

Cole didn't join the rotation until June 20 because of elbow surgery this year, but he's a starter representing the Yankees no matter what. In 17 regular-season appearances, he pitched 95 innings with an 8-5 record, a 3.41 ERA, 99 strikeouts, and a WHIP of 1.126.

In the postseason, he had a 3.31 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 16 ⅓ innings in three games, including six hits and one run in seven innings in Game 4 of the Division Series against the Kansas City Royals.

However, the Yankees ended the American League Championship Series (ALCS) against the Cleveland Guardians in five games. If he had gone to Game 6, Cole would have to take the mound. By beating Cleveland with 4 wins and 1 loss, the World Series rotation can ideally go back.

Coach Boone said he has not confirmed the order of selection after the call, but he is unlikely to shake the ALCS order. In other words, after Cole, Carlos Rodon, Clark Schmidt and Lewis Hill are likely to take the mound. In response, Coach Boone said, `You can take the order in which you went to ALCS as it is.'

In nine postseason games, the Yankees' starters were 2-1 with a 3.89 ERA and a WHIP of 1.34. Rodon (1 win, 1 loss, 4.40 in 3 games), Schmidt (3.86 in 2 games), and Hill (4.50 in 1 game) were not too bad either.

In fact, the LA Dodgers' biggest weakness is the starting lineup. The bullpen consumed a lot as it played 11 games including DS and NLCS. The starting lineup had a 6.08 ERA and a 3.16 bullpen ERA.

The Dodgers have only three postseason starters: Jack Fleherty, Yamamoto Yoshinobu and Walker Buehler. The game that the fourth starter had to play was played on bullpen day. DS) played Game 4 against the San Diego Padres and Game 2 and Game 6 of the NLCS against the New York Mets on bullpen day, winning 2-1 with the New York Mets. The fourth round of the DS was 8-0 in the second round of the NLCS, 3-7 in the second round, and 10-5 in the sixth round. Overall, it is safe to say that you made an effective ear throw.

Even so, expectations for Sunville pitchers are bound to fall compared to the Yankees rotation, which has four starters. However, it is difficult to say that the Dodgers are in an advantageous position in the bullpen fight. The Yankees bullpen ERA is 2.56, which is better than the Dodgers.

Then, who will be sent out in Game 1 of the World Series. Obviously, it's not bullpen day. Considering the rotation, it is Yamamoto's turn to play. Yamamoto enjoyed the joy of winning his first major league postseason victory by throwing cleanly with two hits and no runs in five innings in Game 5 of the DS. In Game 4 of the NLCS, he did not fill the fifth inning, but he played a part in four ⅓ innings with four hits, two runs and eight strikeouts. In the first game of the DS, he completely escaped the slump of allowing five hits and five runs in three innings.

However, there is no problem if Fleherty starts the first game because he has enough rest days. In Game 5 of the NLCS, Fleherty allowed eight hits and four walks in three innings, losing eight runs.

At the time, Fleherty responded "I think the opposing batters did a good job. I had to make an adjustment after the first inning, but I couldn't."

He said he wasn't in good condition. Fastball confinement was up to 93.9 miles and an average of 91.4 miles, nearly two miles slower than the season average of 93.3 miles. In the first game of the NLCS, the average fastball speed was 1.2 miles less than the average speed of 92.6 miles. In the first game of the NLCS, he pitched perfectly with two hits and no runs in seven innings.

In the end, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is expected to select the first game starter after checking his condition over the next two to three days. It's Yamamoto or Fleherty, and the two of them are in charge of the first and second games. Shohei Ohtani, who has virtually completed his pitching rehabilitation, is also expected to take the mound, but the Dodgers reaffirmed before the postseason that `Ohtani will not play as a pitcher this year.' But no one knows how things will turn out. Even if Ohtani goes out, it is difficult to start.

Aaron Judge, Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton combined for 10 home runs this postseason. In particular, Stanton was named the series MVP with four home runs in the ALCS. Attention is focusing on whether the Dodgers' mound will withstand them.
