The Dodgers took a 7-0 lead with Ohtani's home run in the eighth inning in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS) against the New York Mets at City Field in New York on the 17th (Korea time).
Ohtani hit a superior three-run home run with one out and runners on first and second in the top of the eighth inning with a 4-0 lead. On one strike, he pulled the 89-mile cutter low on the second pitch from opposing right-hander Tyler Megill and connected it to a large three-point arch over the right foul pole.
The launch angle was 37 degrees, the batting speed was 115.9 miles, and the distance was 410 feet. The home run was recognized as a result of checking the referee's review because it was ambiguous whether it was a home run or not.
Ohtani's home run is the first time in 11 days, 7 games and 35 at-bats since the tying three-run shot he took from Dylan Siege in the bottom of the second inning of Game 1 of the Division Series against the San Diego Padres at Dodger Stadium on the 6th.
Ohtani pulled a fastball in the middle of Severino's 95-mile first pitch in the first at-bat of the first inning, but first baseman Pete Alonso caught and handled the ball flowing at 99.8 miles.
The Dodgers scored two runs in the top of the second inning using an opponent's error. After the leadoff Max Muncy's walk, catcher Francisco Alvarez caught Teoscar Hernandez's ground ball and threw it to second base, which became a bad pitch, and he got a chance to first and second bases with no outs. Then, when Gavin Lux grounded out to the pitcher, the runners advanced one by one, with runners on the second and third bases with one out. Will Smith's infield hit to shortstop and Tommy Edman's sacrifice fly to center field led 2-0.
The Mets had a full base chance in the bottom of the second inning, but the follow-up hit did not hit. After one out, JD Martinez's walk, Jose Iglesias' infield hit and Tyrone Taylor's walk loaded the bases with one out, but the inning ended when Francisco Alvarez struck out Luke and Francisco Lindor struck out swinging.

The Mets also had a chance to chase with two outs and runners on first and second in the bottom of the third inning, but it was canceled when Martinez struck out swinging by Buehler's 81.3-mile sweeper. The Dodgers also failed to score in the top of the fifth inning when Teosca struck out swinging with two outs and runners on the first and second bases with Freddie Freeman's heavy hit and Muncy's walk.
The Dodgers' poor two-run lead widened to four points with a single home run. After two outs in the top of the sixth inning, the Dodgers scored with Edman's right-handed hit and opposing pitcher Reed Garrett's balk. Kiké Hernández then fired a two-run shot over the left-center field to run 4-0. Kieke cleared two fouls in a row at 1B2S, then pulled Garrett's sixth 88.4-mile body splitter and connected it to a 31-degree launch angle, 102.4 miles batting speed and 378-foot arch. Kike's second home run this fall.
Ohtani then entered the batter's box, but Garrett struck out three pitches. He swung and missed on a 92.4 mile cutter that dropped to one bound on the third pitch on the two strike.
The Mets had a chance with one out and runners on first and second in the bottom of the sixth inning, but Iglesias hit a double play by third baseman and poured cold water on the flow.
The Dodgers made a 7-0 run in the top of the eighth inning with a three-run homer over Ohtani after the lead Smith walked and Kike's heavy hit to create chances for the first and second bases.
