`Three gold medals at the Paris Olympics' Shim Ji-hyun won four gold medals in the women's college team individual, team, and distance events of 50-60m in this competition. He received all the votes in a press corps vote ahead of the closing on the 17th and was honored as MVP. After the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games and the 2025 Paris Olympics, he became the first MVP of the National Sports Festival, showing off the true value of 'Walkle Jingu' on his home turf.
Hwang Sun-woo (Gangwon Provincial Office) won five gold medals, including the 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 400-800m relay, and 400m medley relay, but narrowly missed the record of the first ever 'MVP 4 consecutive losses'. National women's gymnastics team Shin Sol-yi (Gangwon Sports Council) also won five gold medals alongside Hwang Sun-woo. Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Province has achieved its third consecutive victory in the National Sports Festival since the 2022 competition. Gyeonggi Province topped the list by pushing Gyeongnam (55,056 points) to second place with a total score of 65,817.
The 106th National Sports Festival will be held in Busan in 2025.
