'Asia's Strongest' Kim Soo-chul is trying to win for the second consecutive year.

Kim Soo-chul (33, Road FC Wonju) defeated Kim Hyun-woo (22, Team Finish) in the semifinals of the Goobne ROAD FC 070 Bantamweight Tournament at Chiak Gymnasium in Wonju on the 7th. Kim will fight Yang in the final of the tournament in December.



Kim Hyun-woo clearly showed power and speed in punches and kicks, but Kim Soo-chul won the strategy with his skill in leading the game to the ground.

In the early first round, Kim Hyun-woo hit a straight hit and was in good condition, and Kim Soo-chul also threw a few strong punches. Kim Soo-chul immediately grabbed his leg and succeeded in a takedown. In response, Kim Hyun-woo wrapped Kim Soo-chul's neck and defended him. In standing again, Kim Hyun-woo tried to approach and actively pressured Kim Soo-chul, including a flying knee kick. Round 1 ended with a lot of tension.



In the second round, Kim Hyun-woo threw a fast punch, but Kim Soo-chul also took away the take-down with a tackle. However, Kim Hyun-woo's defense based on his strength was good. Kim Soo-chul, who retired in 2017 due to panic disorder and returned four years later, played the title match against Naoki Inoue at Raizin FFF in Japan on September 29, but lost and failed to become the champion.

For Kim Soo-chul, who lost the previous game and plays again in a month, young Kim Hyun-woo may be a burden.

Kim Hyun-woo advanced to the professional league by showing overwhelming ability with eight consecutive wins in the Road FC Central League, and won three consecutive games based on his outstanding strength on the professional stage. He is considered one of the next generations of runners who will lead the bantamweight division due to his good batting and ground skills.

One loss was lost by Yang Ji-yong. At that time, Kim Hyun-woo dominated the game, but Yang Yang-yong won with a guillotine choke.

Kim Hyun-woo, who won his return match by beating Kim Jin-guk in July after being discharged from the military, immediately challenged the global tournament and passed out Lucas Pereira in the quarterfinals with a triangle choke to reach the semifinals.
