Former professional gamer Cho Ki-seok won the final title in the 「2024 Nizcombe PSL Season 1" final held at the e-Sports Hall of Fame in Sangam-dong, Seoul.
Four players, Jung Min-ki (Teran), Seo Moon-ji-hoon (Jug), Jo Ki-seok (Teran), and Kim Bum-soo (Protoce), participated in the semifinals through the competition between the players who achieved the top-ranked performance in the first to third rounds. Here, Cho Ki-seok beat Kim Bum-soo and Jung Min-ki beat Seo Moon-ji-hoon, respectively, and the final match was between Cho Ki-seok and Kim Bum-soo.
In the first set, Cho Ki-seok gave Jung Min-ki the lead in the center, but he eventually won by shaking the left and right sides through the Vulture and retaking the center by creating a multi-base through the drop. In the second set, Cho Ki-seok did not properly grasp the opponent's main camp, but instead won again and reached the eighth ridge of the championship by creating a bunker in his main camp and producing a Goliath to neutralize the opponent's race.
Despite his initial disadvantage in the third set, Jung Min-ki gathered units to constantly pressure the opponent's front yard and produce stable troops with additional multi-strategy, setting the stage for victory and reversal. However, after more than 50 minutes of blood clots in the fourth set, Cho Ki-seok even produced a battle cruiser despite the difference in the upgrade of the aerial unit, combining Goliath and eventually receiving GG from Jung Min-ki to win the first season.
PNB CEO Kim Kwang-seok, who hosted the competition, said "We thank everyone, including fans, for completing season 1 successfully. Even though it is the first season, I think it is meaningful to have many famous games with the active participation of the players, and I will try to successfully host Season 2 as well."
Jung Soo-young, the former coach of the professional game team and the general manager of PNB e-sports, who organized the PSL, said "We will make more efforts to ensure that 'StarCraft 1' maintains its reputation as an e-sports competition through this competition."There were a lot of shortcomings because it's been a long time since it was a competition, but I'd like to thank the players and fans for enjoying the competition. Season 2 will make the competition more complete."
