On the afternoon of the 7th, a press conference for the retirement of SSG Landers Choo Shin-soo was held at Gyeongwonjae Ambassador Incheon in Songdo, Incheon. Ahead of this season, Choo Shin-soo announced his retirement for the last time this year. He greeted his home fans at the last regular season game held at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on September 30. The SSG club said it will hold an official retirement ceremony for Choo Shin-soo next season.
Born in 1982. After graduating from Busan High School, Choo Shin-soo signed with Seattle in the U.S. Major League in 2001 and began his professional career in the U.S. Choo Shin-soo, who entered the big league in 2005, played in the major leagues until 2020. He returned to the KBO League after moving to SK (SSG's predecessor) in the 2021 season. He played a leading role in SSG's integrated victory in 2022 and played four more seasons in Korean professional baseball. Choo Shin-soo, who finished his professional career for 24 years, held a retirement press conference after the end of the season.
