Chung Mong-gyu, president of the Korea Football Association, has set the stage for his fourth consecutive term.

According to a soccer official on the 28th, Chairman Chung plans to ask the Sports Fair Committee of the Korea Sports Council to review his second term on the 2nd of next month.

Chairman Chung's request for a second term can be interpreted as an expression of his willingness to run for a second term.

Chairman Chung, who served as the president of the Korea Football Association for three consecutive times since 2013, will become the 55th chairman if he is elected in the presidential election after passing the Fair Trade Commission's review.

Candidates will be registered for three days from December 25, and elections will be held on January 8 next year. The new chairman's term starts from the regular general meeting on Jan. 22.



As a result, the election for the president of the Korea Football Association has become a two-way race between Chairman Chung and former chairman of Hana Citizen in Daejeon.

Former chairman Huh, who served as the coach of the Korean national soccer team, held a press conference on the 25th and officially announced his candidacy for the next president of the Korea Football Association.
