The EPL legend called Tottenham manager Engie Postecoglou's decision to bring Son Heung-min to the bench early in the second half a "Big Call".
Martin Kearn tilted his head in the 11th minute of the second half, when Tottenham and Aston Villa were 1-1 in the 10th round of the English Premier League (EPL) of the 2024-2025 season at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on the 3rd (Korea time).
Kearn said in real time that Son Heung-min was sharp and looking good in real time on the British public broadcaster `BBC.' He shows his best performance when he plays in position 10. I was surprised to see him leave the stadium like that."
Alan Smith, a member of the same broadcaster, also said, `It may be to protect Son Heung-min, but it is a little surprising because it is a must-win game. It's a big decision, but that's why Postecoglou is getting a salary. It's what a head of a team should do."
The broadcast screen captured Son Heung-min suddenly walking to the bench in bewilderment after receiving a bench call, and sitting on the bench, getting annoyed and expressing regret. Son Heung-min helped Brennan Johnson's goal with a sharp left-footed cross from the left side in the fourth minute of the second half, seven minutes before he was replaced. He showed off his best condition in his return match for the first time in four games, showing a fantastic foot dribble that pierced two opposing players in the first half.

"'BBC' states that if Postecoglou fails to win the match, he will be asked a question in this regard. In other words, he will take responsibility for the decision to bring in his team's captain and main striker in 55 minutes.
As a result, however, Postecoglou's mercenary skills hit the mark. Tottenham succeeded in rebounding in the second half as they planned to turn the tables through side attacks and changes in the midfield. Dominic Solanke scored a series of come-from-behind and additional goals in the 30th and 34th minutes of the second half, and James Maddison sealed a 4-1 victory with a free kick in the 6th minute of extra time.
Glenn Murray told BBC Radio"Postecoglou does not hesitate to make big decisions. We've been seeing that all along..." he raised his thumb.
Frank Lampard said in his book Sky Sports"Tottenham is good at vertical and fast passes across the center of the pitch. Villa failed to respond with a quick turnaround like they did in the first half in Solanke's first goal"The performance in the second half is bound to be good for the coach. The big-money goalscorer in the summer scored two goals, and Madison, except for the starter, came in hungry and showed good performance"It was well received.
Son Heung-min, who missed six of Tottenham's past seven games after suffering a hamstring injury in September, raised his sense of play to the point where he did not overdo it thanks to the consideration of POSTECH coach. Tottenham, which jumped three places to seventh place in the league with two consecutive wins including cups, will play two consecutive games against Galatasaray on the 8th and Ipswich Town on the 10th.
