The baseball team, led by head coach Ryu Joong-il, came from behind to win 9-6 in the fourth Group B match against the Dominican Republic at Taipei Tianmu Stadium in Taiwan on the 16th (Korea time). South Korea, which was dragged to 0-6 with only one hit until the top of the sixth inning, made a lucky four-run big inning in the bottom of the sixth inning due to the opponent's errors, and produced a big five-run inning again in the bottom of the eighth inning.
South Korea, which lost to Taiwan and won against Cuba, but was depressed after losing to Japan, won a dramatic victory in the Dominican Republic, making it 2-2 in the group stage. Taiwan, which won the match against Australia unconditionally on the 18th and lost 2-1 to Japan on the same day, is in a situation where it loses both Australia and Cuba.
Coach Ryu put Hong Chang-ki (left wing), Shin Min-jae (second baseman), Kim Do-young (third baseman), Moon Bo-kyung (designated hitter), Park Dong-won (possession), Song Sung-moon (first baseman), Yoon Dong-hee (right wing), Park Sung-han (striker) and Choi Won-jun (middle fielder) in the starting lineup. The first run came in the top of the second inning. Lim Chan-kyu, who allowed a heavy hit to leadoff hitter Alcantara, gave up consecutive walks to Mieses and Rodriguez, causing a full base crisis with no outs. Lim Chan-kyu induced De León to play a double play by shortstop, but in the meantime, the third baseman homered and lost for the first time. 0-1. Lim Chan-kyu stopped any more runs as he handled Cespedes with a fly ball.
When Lim Chan-kyu took the top of the third inning, he made a complete withdrawal, but the South Korean batting line was blocked by Kilome until the end of the third inning, failing to revive the sagging atmosphere.
In the end, Lim Chan-kyu couldn't stand it either. In the top of the fourth inning, Nunez, the leadoff batter, allowed a double to right-center, followed by a two-run shot to Alcantara in the middle, making it 0-3. Ryu put So Hyung-joon on the mound, but allowed Hanson to make a timely hit to the right with two outs and runners on the first and second bases, which was made by giving up consecutive hits to Rodriguez and De León, widening the gap to 0-4.

South Korea allowed Cho Byung-hyun to steal third base following a double by Cespedes after two outs in the top of the sixth inning, and lost again when Hanson hit a timely hit in the left-center. 0-6. With Kim Seo-hyun taking over the mound, catcher Park Dong-won blocked Hanson's steal to end the inning.
The Dominican Republic replaced Kilome with Perez in the bottom of the sixth inning, who had one hit, no four outs, and five strikeouts in 58 pitches until the fifth inning. South Korea's leadoff hitter Park Sung-han walked and succeeded in getting on base for the first time on the day, and Choi Won-joon also walked on base to create a chance for the first and second bases with no outs. With Hong Chang-ki's walk to second and third bases with one out, the Dominican Republic put J. Rodriguez on the mound. Shin Min-jae only grounded out to the pitcher, and second baseman Choi Won-joon's overrun seemed to create a double play situation, but while J. Rodriguez's throw to the first base fell back, both runners home and Shin Min-jae struggled to score as he went to third base. 2-6. Na Seung-yeop struck out with one out and third base, but Moon Bo-kyung hit a double to the right-center to make it 3-6. In the following at-bat, Park Dong-won made a left-field double and succeeded in chasing by 4-6, two points.

South Korea took the mound in the top of the eighth inning and threw a winning move to put in closer Park Young-hyun early when Choi Ji-min's control was shaken after one out. Park Young-hyun allowed a hit to Rodriguez, but he made a checker to increase the out count and ended the inning with a strikeout.
Attack in the bottom of the eighth inning. South Korea's leadoff hitter Na Seung-yeop got on base with a hit to the right against the Dominican Republic's Corniel. With the Dominican Republic taking the mound in relief of Castillo, Moon Bo-kyung hit a bases-loaded walk to make it one out and second base. Park Dong-won's left-field hit continued the situation with one out and runners on the first and third bases, and captain Song Sung-moon hit a timely hit to the right, and South Korea followed up with a 5-6, one-run gap. Yoon Dong-hee struck out, but Song Sung-moon's steal was successful, with two outs and runners on the second and third bases. Park Sung-han's two-run triple that cut right-center after a full count match with Castillo turned the game around 7-6, and Choi Won-joon's right-field double added one more run to lead 8-6. Hong Chang-ki's fly ball also became a lucky heavy hit, widening the gap to 9-6, home-in to Choi Won-joon.
