Coach Lee Heung-ryeon agreed to a leadership contract with Samsung on the 5th. He is expected to take his first step as a leader as a battery coach in the Futures League.
Lee Heung-ryeon, who graduated from Hongik University through Yatapo, was considered the biggest fish catcher in college with both ball and ball. In 2013, he started his professional career by wearing a Samsung uniform as the 47th in the fifth round of the rookie draft. For 10 years, he played as a backup catcher through three teams of Samsung → Doosan → SSG (including SK).
Lee Heung-ryeon, who has been playing as a backup catcher for Jin Gap-yong with Lee Ji-young since 2014, hit a career high with a batting average of 260,000 with six home runs and 25 RBIs in 85 games in 2016, shortly after Jin Gap-yong retired. Ahead of the 2017 season, he wore a Doosan uniform as a compensation player for FA Lee Won-seok. He then wore SK Uniforms with Kim Kyung-ho in a 2-2 trade against Lee Seung-jin and Kwon Ki-young during the 2020 season. It was a deal made by SK's need for Lee Jae-won's backup catcher.
Coach Lee Heung-ryeon, who played for SSG Landers until 2023, retired last year and transformed into the front desk. This season, he traveled around the country as an away power analyst and expanded his perspective on the baseball industry as a whole.

Samsung, led by head coach Park Jin-man, is holding a final camp in Okinawa, Japan, for a total of 17 nights and 18 days from the 5th to the 22nd.
