Sports tourism is a combination of sports events and tourism, and has become a global trend in recent years. Seoul's strategy to establish itself as a global sports tourism city goes beyond simply combining sports events and tourism and requires the establishment of systematic governance for regional cooperation, branding, and sustainable development. Seoul already has various sports infrastructure and tourism resources, and based on this, it is attracting attention as a city with the potential to build a differentiated sports tourism brand and secure global competitiveness through mega sports events.

Kang Tae-sun, chairman of the Seoul Sports Council, said, "This forum will serve as an important opportunity to further enrich Seoul's economy and culture through the convergence of sports and tourism. In cooperation with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, we will continue to push for ways to promote sports tourism with the goal of attracting the 2036 Summer Olympics, and this forum has laid an important foundation for laying the foundation for a global sports tourism hub."
