▶A new paradigm utilizing future school sports and technological innovation

Hannam-hee, a professor of international sports at Korea University, made the first presentation under the theme of 'School Sports in a New Era'. Professor Han said, `According to the Ministry of Culture's 2023 「National Sports Survey」, the participation rate of teenagers in sports is 52.6%, lower than 54.3% in their 70s.' In 2021, the proportion of obese students among elementary, middle, and high school students was 19%, up 3.9%p from 2019. 30.8% of all students were concerned that they needed weight management. As a problem with current school sports, it was pointed out that "the lower grades of elementary school lack physical education time due to integrated subjects, the 3rd to 6th grades have a problem of avoiding physical education classes due to the lack of professionalism of teachers, and middle and high schools have a lot of room for physical education to be formalized and marginalized due to entrance exam-oriented education." Regarding the direction of future school sports, Professor Han emphasized that "school sports in a new era are not changes in identity, but changes in educational methods.".He suggested that "Digital-based physical education such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), and wearable devices should be tailored to support each student's physical activities to overcome the limitations of physical education and approach them from the perspective of ecological sports to learn the value of life in harmony with the environment through school sports."

▶ Crisis in Korean sports, the need to change student-athlete policies

Kang Ho-seok, president of the National Council of Leaders (Squash's national coach), criticized the existing regulatory policy on student athletes under the theme of 「Necessity for changes in the student player development system」. " (Due to the lowest academic ability system), middle school students have to file a lawsuit to participate in the competition." violence made by adults." Comparing Korea, which only participated in women's handballs at the Paris Olympics, and Japan, which won the right to participate in all ball games, Kang said, "Korea uses a policy of picking out 'student athletes' with tweezers, but Japan lets all children exercise through the 'bookatsu (club)'." The UK's school game is a policy that allows all children to participate in the competition through level 1 to 4 competitions to find happiness in study and exercise, but Korea's minimum education system is a policy that limits student-athletes to 'nose' if they don't study. There is a big difference in perception." `The older generation should not impose a system on the next generation, but rather think about what education is needed for student-athletes. A customized curriculum for student-athletes and practical measures to combine study and exercise should be prepared" he stressed. After mentioning that Stanford University produced 39 `non-athletes' at the Paris Olympics and won more medals than `athletic majors' at Korea National Sport University (14), Kang said, `We should not only shed light on foreign athletes who used to be lawyers and doctors at every Olympics, but also figure out whether our society allows various career choices when both sports and study are combined.' "If it opens the way for various career choices other than going to the same department, you will naturally do exercise and study at the same time." Chairman Kang also suggested that "(In order to change the student player development system, it is urgent to change the leadership and the coach training system") and that "(the introduction of the 'coach developer' system, which has already become common in sports advanced countries such as Japan and Australia)." "There is a need for a policy that combines coach training and mentoring to provide continuous support and advice to coaches while learning and growing coaching skills."

He then raised the "movement to attempt another integrated subject, such as a "healthy life" style, in which physical education was barely separated from the first and second grades of elementary school "Enjoyable Life" and emphasized that "the subject separated from a pleasant life must be 'Sports Subject".
