Guardiola agrees one-year contract extension with Manchester City

'Spanish master craftsman' Pep Guardiola agreed to extend his one-year contract with Manchester City.

Guardiola won six gold medals in the 2008-2009 season after taking the helm of Barcelona in 2008, and is a master of new history, including four consecutive Premier League defeats and Manchester City's first treble since taking over at Manchester City in 2016. Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City have lifted as many as 39 trophies.

With Manchester City under contract until 2025, his subsequent move has been a concern for the world's soccer community. The Athletic reported on the 20th (Korea Standard Time) that Guardiola agreed with Manchester City to remain as manager until 2026 while exercising the option of a one-year extension. The official announcement of Guardiola's renewal is expected on the 21st.

Guardiola, who took the helm of Manchester City following Manuel Pellegrini in 2016, has been on a brilliant path to success, collecting as many as 18 trophies while leading Manchester City for eight years. Defending champion Manchester City had a hard time losing four consecutive games ahead of the A-match break, but the Manchester City club's support for Guardiola remains unwavering. "It's a tough challenge, but here I am," Guardiola told the media after Manchester City's recent crushing defeat by Sporting in the European Champions League"I knew from the beginning that it was going to be a tough season. This is the reality. I like this situation. I want to face this reality, encourage the players, and continue to challenge them", showing unwavering confidence.
