Manchester City has been engulfed in a "all-time slump" with five consecutive losses and three consecutive losses in the English Premier League (EPL) for the first time since Pep Guardiola took office.
Most recently, on the 24th (Korea time), he suffered a historic 0-4 defeat by Tottenham led by Son Heung-min in the 12th round of the EPL in the 2024-2025 season at Etihad Stadium (Manchester), his home stadium.
Captain Son Heung-min assisted midfielder James Maddison's additional goal with a sensuous penetration pass in the 20th minute of the first half, and contributed to the team's victory by making Pedro Porro's third scoring pass in the 7th minute of the second half. I gave Madison a special birthday present.
Son Heung-min, who wrote his fourth assist of the season, proved himself to be a Manchester City killer by scoring the second double-digit attack point (five goals and five assists) against Pep Guardiola. The first player is Mohamed Salah (Liverpool).
Son Heung-min scored the winning goal that led to a 1-0 win at home in August 2021, and led the team to a 2-0 victory with the first goal in November 2020. In February of the same year, he scored a decisive goal in a 2-0 win.
Crucially, he scored a total of three goals at home and away in the quarterfinals of the European Champions League (UCL) in the 2018-2019 season, giving Manchester City an elimination.

Manchester City only had 23 points due to the defeat on the day. Five points against the leading Liverpool. If Liverpool won the Southampton away game a day later, it could have been eight points, something Guardiola was concerned about.
Liverpool won a thrilling 3-2 victory thanks to Salah's consecutive goals in the second half. In the 35th minute of the second half, a handball foul by Japanese national fullback Sugawara Yukinari of Southampton had a decisive effect on the match. Salah, who played as a penalty kicker, calmly scored the winning goal.
Guardiola has never used an Asian player while leading Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City. He won the league and Europe with small squads centered on proven talented players rather than Asian players famous for their 'cost-effectiveness'.
However, he was often beaten by Asian players in the process of becoming the best master of all time. Guardiola, who called Wolverhampton ace Hwang Hee-chan 'The Korean Guy' ahead of the Wolverhampton away game in September last year, gave Hwang Hee-chan the winning goal and mentioned Hwang Hee-chan's name exactly after losing 1-2. Hwang Hee-chan also scored Wolverhampton's only goal in May, when he suffered a crushing 1-5 defeat.
Manchester City will be put to a big test on the 2nd of next month. It will play the 13th round of the EPL against league leader Liverpool at Anfield. Prior to that, on the 27th, he will play the fifth European Champions League phase against Feyenoord, where Hwang In-beom plays 'Another Korean'. Manchester City ranked 10th out of 36 teams with two wins, one draw and seven points in four league-phase games.
