Manchester City's Norwegian striker Erling Holan is on the verge of renewing his contract for an astronomical amount. Soccer expert Roy Keane criticized Holan for being a `four-legger' but the price is high.

British media outlet Mirror'Manchester City is confident of renewing its contract with Holan on the 17th (Korea time). However, we hope that the buyout clause will be amended,' the report said.

The Mirror said 'Man City and Holan are in talks about a new contract. Holan is expected to become the highest paid player in the Premier League, beating his team-mate Kevin De Bruyne. Man City are increasingly confident that Holan will sign a new big deal.

The Mirror is discussing a significantly increased contract extension worth 500,000 pounds (about 880 million won) per week.

If you stamp it for £500,000, you will be the highest paid player in the Premier League. It is an amount that easily exceeds 400,000 pounds (about 700 million won) of Derbroughner.

He will also be one of the highest paid players in Europe. Currently, FC Barcelona's Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong is receiving 600,000 euros (about 880 million won) per week.

Holan and Manchester City appear to have reached an agreement without much disagreement.

The Mirror said 'Negotiations have recently taken place in Norway. Hallan's super agent Rafaela Pimenta and Manchester City management responded positively to the high salary. It included a huge pay rise and an additional two-year contract,' he explained.

Manchester City paid a transfer fee of 60 million pounds (about 105 billion won) to Borussia Dortmund of the German Bundesliga in June 2022 and recruited Holan. Holan's current weekly salary is reported to be 375,000 pounds (about 660 million won).

The last issue is buyout. Man City want to either get rid of the buyout or increase the amount to keep Holan.

Mirror says 'One problem to be solved is £150 million (about KRW 264 billion) buyout. Manchester City want to delete it, but Holan's side insist on leaving a buyout. A potential solution is to raise the buyout to 200 million pounds (about 350 billion won)' he suggested.

If you pay a buyout, Manchester City will have no way of preventing Holan's transfer, so it is most advantageous to delete this clause. On the other hand, from the player's point of view, the possibility of transfer is significantly reduced without a buyout, which makes it somewhat disadvantageous in ransom negotiations.

Real Madrid can't rest assured of a £200 million buyout.

The Mirror said 'Holan is currently considered the world's top goalscorer. Manchester City set a remarkable record of 105 goals in 113 games. Among them, he scored 75 goals in 77 games in the Premier League. Manchester City have recently lost four consecutive games for the first time since Pep Guardiola took office, but Holan has expressed his satisfaction at Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Keane lashed out at Holan when Manchester City drew without scoring against Arsenal in the 30th round of the 2023-2024 Premier League, which was held in April. The Mirror said Holland is like a League Two (fourth division) player. Holland pointed to areas that need to be improved, Keane reported.

Keane says "Holan has a low overall level of play. It's not just today. He holds it for now and sees it, whether it's heading or whatever. In front of the goal, he said, "I'm the best in the world, but considering that, my overall play is terrible."

Then "Holan should improve such things. Now he's almost like a League Two player. He's an excellent striker, but he needs to improve his performance for years to come" raised his voice.

On 29 April, when Holan scored in just nine minutes against Nottingham Forest, Holan was very much like a Championship (minor league) player. It's improved a lot. He is amazing in terms of goalscorers. In terms of finishing, there is no doubt about his quality" he said.

The Mirror responded shamelessly to Keane's remarks' he pointed out.

Holan said "I don't care much about him"I didn't want to get involved.
