It's the season of award ceremonies.

Professional baseball is not the only factor in the year's settlement. Although it receives a little less attention, it is a season where the independent league, where it is needed, is also a season to prepare for tomorrow's hope by reflecting on one season.

On the day Kim Do-young emerged as the best KBO star by winning the MVP award, Choi Soo-hyun, the star of the 'strongest baseball', was named the MVP, the best player in the independent league.

Choi Soo-hyun (28) won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award, which is given to the best performing player in the independent league this season, at the "2024 Independent Baseball Team Gyeonggi League Awards and Closing Ceremony" held at the Ravidol Resort Syntex Hall in Hwaseong on the 26th.

Choi Soo-hyun had a batting average of 339 (21 hits in 62 at-bats) this season, one home run, 20 RBIs, 19 points, an on-base percentage of 0.456 and a slugging percentage of 0.516 OPS of 0.972. In the three games of the Gyeonggi-do League championship match against Paju, he also played 5 hits, 4 RBIs, 4 runs and a batting average of 556, leading Yeoncheon Miracle to a three-win, unbeaten victory.

In an interview after winning the award, Choi Soo-hyun said, "It is an honor to give me a big award called MVP. I deeply appreciate Gyeonggi-do Province and the association officials who supported the league on behalf of all the players, and I give the honor of the award to manager Kim In-sik and the coach who are dedicated to the team. "I was really disappointed to miss the championship at the KBO Dream Cup in June, but I will definitely lift the trophy in next year's tournament," he said.

Yeoncheon won four gold medals this season by winning the 70th Paju Gyeonggi Sports Festival (Baseball Division 2)", the "Independent Baseball Team Gyeonggi-do League Regular and Final Integrated Championship", and the "2024 KBSA League D1", but unfortunately tied for third in the "2024 Hoengseong KBO Dream Cup" held in Hoengseong, Gangwon Province, in June.

In the meantime, Yeoncheon manager Kim In-sik received the Coach Award, and Yeoncheon captain and catcher Shin Hong-seo received the Order of Merit Award.

The Golden Glove Award, which is given to the best player in each position, went to pitcher Choi Jong-wan (Yeoncheon), catcher Park Yoo-yeon (Paju), first baseman Jung Tae-joo (Pyeong), second baseman Park Soo-hyun (Yeoncheon), third baseman Choi Ji-min (Yeoncheon), shortstop Park Chan-hyung (Yeoncheon), outfielder Kang Dong-woo (Hwaseong), Lee Hyuk-joon Yoo Hyun-woo (Paju), and designated hitter Kim Tae-hoon (Seongnam).
