On the 29th, the Hana Bank K League 2024 Awards Ceremony was held at the Swiss Grand Hotel in Hongeun-dong, Seoul. The main character of the K League 2 Coach Award was Yoo. Coach Yoo received nine votes for the coach, 10 for the captain, and 87 for the media. He was honored with 79 points, beating South Chungcheong Asan coach Kim Hyun-suk with 12.87 points and Seoul E-Land coach Kim Do-kyun with 8.13 points.
Coach Yoo joined Anyang as the founding coach in 2013 and served as the coach and head coach until 2017. After that, he joined Anyang as the head coach again in 2021 after passing through Asan Mugunghwa and Seoul E-Land. After serving as the head coach until 2023, he took over as Anyang's head coach from this season.
He showed off his new leadership. Starting with the victory in the opening game, Anyang took the lead in the league from the 10th round and maintained its No. 1 ranking until the end. There was only one losing streak during the season. Anyang completed coach Yoo's 「Flower Bud Soccer」 before the opening, ranking at least second in runs among 13 K League 2 teams. Anyang, with coach Yoo's leadership at the forefront, lifted the championship cup with emotion.
Coach Yoo said "It's a hard promotion. I would like to thank Mayor Choi Dae-ho for giving me a chance even though I had a lot of difficulties, director Lee Woo-hyung and Bucheon coach Lee Young-min for being supportive. I want to honor the coaching staff and the players. Thank you to the fans for showing Anyang's hotness. I'm sorry that soccer comes before mother, wife, daughter, and family."
