"I want to sit here next year, too."

It was a pledge from FC Anyang coach Yoo Byung-hoon, who won the K League 2 Coach Award. On the 29th, the Hana Bank K League 2024 Awards Ceremony was held at the Swiss Grand Hotel in Hongeun-dong, Seoul. Coach Yoo became the best coach in the K League 2 with 9 votes, 10 votes for the captain and 87 votes for the media. He was honored with 79 points, beating South Chungcheong Asan coach Kim Hyun-suk with 12.87 points and Seoul E-Land coach Kim Do-kyun with 8.13 points.

Coach Yoo joined Anyang as the founding coach in 2013 and served as the coach and head coach until 2017. After that, he joined Anyang as the head coach again in 2021 after passing through Asan Mugunghwa and Seoul E-Land. After serving as the head coach until 2023, he took over as Anyang's head coach from this season.

He showed off his new leadership. Starting with the victory in the opening game, Anyang took the lead in the league from the 10th round and maintained its No. 1 ranking until the end. There was only one losing streak during the season. Anyang completed coach Yoo's 「Flower Bud Soccer」 before the opening, ranking at least second in runs among 13 K League 2 teams. Anyang, with coach Yoo's leadership at the forefront, lifted the championship cup with emotion.

Director Yoo said in a press conference after the ceremony, `It's an honor to receive a big award. It is more meaningful because it was given by other coaches, players, and media who worked hard in the league. I want to give honor to the staff and players who worked hard, rather than to do well and receive it. It's joy, I can't tell you, but it's an honor to sit down with good directors. Using this as a stepping stone, I want to sit here next year with more confidence."

For coach Yoo, who started his managerial career this season, the current situation is like a dream. He said "It's a different situation than I thought. At first, it started hard and I thought it would be difficult, but I'm dreaming as I get the results. A different world is unfolding. I'm motivated to try harder. I will try harder and prepare well next year."

At the awards ceremony, Yoo talked with Ulsan coach Kim Pan-gon and Gangwon coach Yoon Jeong-hwan. He said "The two directors were not vigilant. That's how it started in the second part. I will make sure to survive next year while being less vigilant.'

Director Yoo always leaves out words of gratitude to director Lee Woo-hyung. Director Yoo is his teacher and mentor. Director Yoo "He's an important person to me. He usually doesn't say anything, but in difficult moments, he advises me on the part of the answer, like Solomon's wisdom. I tried to fix it with training when I lost three consecutive games, but director Lee Woo-hyung advised me that changing the atmosphere is important. He was a novice coach, but his advice played an important role in winning."
