Gangwon FC coach Yoon Jung-hwan was adamant. On the 29th, the Hana Bank K League 2024 Awards Ceremony was held at the Swiss Grand Hotel in Hongeun-dong, Seoul. The K League 1 manager award was up to Yoon. Coach Yoon received seven votes for the coach, seven for the captain, and 89 for the media. He was honored with 65.69 points, beating Ulsan coach Kim Pan-gon with 17.33 points and Kim Jeong-yong with 16.98 points.
Based on Yoon's outstanding leadership and leadership this season, Gangwon finished second for the first time in 16 years with 19 wins, 7 draws and 12 losses in 38 league games.
Coach Yoon took over in Gangwon during the season in June 2023 and led a dramatic stay at the brink of the promotion and playoffs, and wrote a reversal drama that put Gangwon in second place this season.
This season, Gangwon did not receive much attention at the beginning of the season, with three draws and one loss until the fourth round and reporting its late first win against Daegu in the fifth round. However, starting with five consecutive wins from round 13 to round 17, four straight wins from round 24 to round 27 and three straight wins from round 33 to round 35. In addition, in the final game of the season, he beat Pohang 1-0 to secure the runner-up spot on his own.
Meanwhile, it is the first time in four years that a coach other than the winning team in K League 1 has won the manager's award since third-place Pohang coach Kim Ki-dong in 2020. Looking at the K-League as a whole, it is the fourth time after OTC Ryong (Incheon, runner-up), Park Kyung-hoon (Jeju, runner-up) in 2010, and Kim Ki-dong (Pohang, third place) in 2020.
Director Yoon said in a press conference after the ceremony, `I would like to express my gratitude to receive the Director Award. This award was possible not because of me, but because of the strength of our staff, front desk, and squad. I'm grateful."

As for why he won the Coach Award, he said, `You must have felt a lot while watching our team football. I think they gave me a ticket while looking at the color of Gangwon-do and the birth of new stars. I don't think those things appealed. The team atmosphere was so good that it was incomparable to other teams. I think that's why he gave me the ticket."
At the beginning of the season, Gangwon did not receive attention. Director Yoon also expressed regret about this. Coach Yoon said, `Other teams went to Thailand or Southeast Asia, but we were the only ones who went to Turkiye. I didn't mean to do it in secret there. I tried to make what I wanted to do through many games. As a result, it was a big plus. That's when I first met a player named Yang Min-hyuk. I got a glimpse of the possibility. I thought I could get a job in the K League while training Turkiye. Of course, it wasn't like this, but I was confident. There was definitely an out-of-season training result."
Coach Yoon's contract with Gangwon will expire at the end of this season. He was cautious but firm about renewing his contract. They want you to treat them as well as the achievements you have shown. Coach Yoon said, `No one expected the runner-up in Gangwon Province. Gangwon's soccer showed a solid game. Any leader would feel the same way about being judged on that. This is what team officials and CEO have to decide. It can be said that the municipal and provincial teams are difficult, but I think they should be evaluated from the manager's point of view. We are having a consultation on that. It is prudent to say something when the decision has not been made." he said.
Yang Min-hyuk picked Yoo Byung-hun as the second Yang Min-hyuk. Coach Yoon said, `Byeong-heon is attending Maetan High School, but our team is training. Not much is known. It's also true that they're coming in. He is one of the players who is close to Minhyuk. He is a short and explosive player. have the power to shoot. Professional is not an easy place, so there is no guarantee that you will do well like Minhyuk. Our team is where young players get opportunities. Young players will come in next year, but how much they use it in the right place is important. Our team's policy is to foster young players. You have to make a team to match. From a director's point of view, grades are important. You don't know what will happen if you don't get good grades as a coach. I'll think about fostering while thinking about two things."
