KBO Youth Tour Injury Prevention Training Ends Successfully

The 2024 'KBO Youth Tour Injury Prevention Education' held by KBO under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism completed successfully at Pukyong High School in Busan.

KBO Youth Circuit Injury Prevention Education is a project in which professional team trainers visit middle and high school baseball teams to provide injury prevention education and rotational exercise education necessary for baseball, and provide training equipment for the healthy growth of youth players, the future of Korean baseball.

Starting at Inchang High School in Guri-si, Gyeonggi-do on May 14, a total of 50 schools, including 31 middle schools and 19 high schools, participated in the education, and KBO provided training equipment worth 700,000 won to participating schools.

Lee Seong-gap, the head coach of Oesan Middle School who participated in the 'KBO Youth Tour Injury Prevention Education" deeply appreciates the KBO for providing such educational opportunities to Oesan Middle School outside the country where it is difficult to access the external environment. Based on what our players learned today, it was a meaningful time to learn what kind of exercise each of us should do alone in the future. If I have the opportunity, I want to receive such education every year, and KBO is providing generous support for youth support, and if I pay more attention to supporting schools in difficult environments, I think children can play baseball happier with their dreams," he said.

Jegal-young, a third-year student at Gumi Middle School, said "I learned from my trainer today that I don't just have to work hard on weight training while learning about mobility training methods and importance. It was a very meaningful time to learn that injury prevention was not done by a trainer or coach, but ultimately depends on how well I know my body and train systematically, and I will try to exercise hard and play baseball without injury with the training method you told me from now on."

Five professional team trainers, including Kim Yong-il (LG), Bae Yo-han (LG), Koo Ja-wook (KT), Park Rae-chan (NC), and Yoo Hyun-won (LG), participated as instructors for the 'KBO Youth Tour Injury Prevention Education'.

LG's chief training coach Kim Yong-il said, `I could feel the players' interest and enthusiasm for the youth injury prevention education that KBO has been conducting for two years. The goal of education is to understand and convey information about reinforcement exercises to prevent injuries as young players grow and the right training for players to play baseball well. We hope that the players will be equipped with more training equipment to maximize the continuity and effectiveness of education so that the youth can learn a good environment and correct injury prevention knowledge to reveal the future of Korean baseball in good health. Thank you to the school officials and coaches for your cooperation in youth injury prevention education, and thanks to the team conditioning coaches who participated in injury prevention education using their days off during the season, we were able to complete the training well", he expressed his feelings.

Meanwhile, KBO plans to continue to make efforts to help youth players acquire medical advice and information by holding the "2024 KBO Compulsory Seminar for Youth Leaders and Parents" hosted by KBO Compulsory Committee members and trainers and coaches from major overseas clubs on November 30.
